So our wonderful XB12R got some recognition in Super Streetbike this month and they had plenty of good things to say. (And what's more, though they mentioned it, didn't knock our Buellies lack of top end- and even said........ hell, let me just quote him :-) ) "On the move, all of those innovative engineering ideas gel to creat a sure-footed, nimble-handling motorcycle that can easily find its way past more powerful machines... "This thing switches from side to side with gentle steering input, while it will lean over farther than a double-jointed stripper... "...it won't exactly worry a four cylinder liter bike in a drag race... [but] loves corners. "If different is what you're looking for, along with cornering potential that will turn your tire sidewalls to jelly, Buell's Firebolt has your name on it." -Mike Seate Seate's about the only SSB journalist I pretty well always agree with. So there, they're not all bashing us all the time!! :-) Happy Buelling and Happy Holidays family ~Dunte |

Until they talked about clipping a wire in back of the dash for more HP ??? And then the fact that you can a race exhaust and race ecm from the factory ??? And they listed the right up at the top as a 2004 XB when indeed the bike pictured was a 2006 ??? |

I tried clipping that wire, but a hand popped out and slapped my balls. |

Yeah, I caught that about the race kit. It's been (years?) that that's been ooc... and honestly, I know nothing about this wire. If it is NOT the case, they probably made that assumption, since the ricers' ignition retard often does in fact rob 3-8 horsies, depending on model and year. Hahaha, never said they were starting to UNDERSTAND... I said they were starting to RECOGNIZE ~Dunte |

I think the wire thing only applies to European Buells. Some additional regulation compliance addition. |

TwoWheelTuner: That mag tends to feature Buell in most of the issues I have seen. It may not be a long write up, maybe just a custom picture, or something. But in whole I think the mag is not out to bash Buell. One reason it is the first mag I look for on the stands! (Message edited by u4euh on December 20, 2007) |

It seems Buells only get respect in the circle of real stunters. They know what can be done with the bikes because because of the people that ride them - Team Xtreem, Psycho Buells, and many others. |

The respect level has grown by leaps and bounds since I first got involved in owning a Buell back in 99. Back then there was no respect but just a few. Now 8 years later the bikes are being ridden by many that just 3 years ago would never even give a second thought. |

I tried clipping that wire, but a hand popped out and slapped my balls. Oh, holy shit, that's funny! Now I've got this image stuck in my head of a cartoon hand coming outta whatever I'm screwing with and slappin' my sack. |

Any time I get the opportunity to blast a wheelie past a group of posers on rice rockets I feel I am educating the ignorant. My efforts got back to me one time when I was at the grocer. The meat cutter there new I had a Buell and told me that some crazy guy on a Buell blasted a most excellent wheelie past his group of riding buddies and then pulled a stoppie. The story sounded great and made me blush almost a bit. I think it sounded great cuz he had a Kiwi accent and that added to the tale. I couldn't take credit on the spot because I was with my wife. I told her I didn't know our bikes could actually wheelie. LOL In retrospect, the stoppie really wasn't even good enough to mention, but as long as the others thought it was good, then my work was done. |

Although its cool. I'd rather see a all new design. I want to see a new tail section completely seat and all. Different windscreen and headlights. A all new look from top tp bottom. |

I have a feeling that if a Fighter Rotax comes out, we're going to see a fairing like the 1125, but on a smaller scale. Maybe 2 lights total. I'd like to see a retro to a tube frame too maybe. |

I actually like the looks of the above pic better then the current 1125R configuration. |

That is really cool looking. But after seeing how hard it is to keep the 1125R's front wheel down, I think I'd still go with the current body weight more forward sportbike design. The bike above would be a very fast unicycle! |

If you get rid of those radiator pods and I would rock it. It is supposed to be a naked street fighter so show us the radiator! |

If you get rid of those radiator pods and I would rock it. It is supposed to be a naked street fighter so show us the radiator! But the pods are their for a reason! Get rid of the scoops, and you lose 75% of the cooling. So if you had a choice of 3 times larger radiators, or scoops, personally I'd go with scoops. You want completely naked, get rid of the radiators all together... and get an XB! Disclaimer: I made up those numbers, so if you want to argue about specifics then poop on you (Message edited by Mikef5000 on December 22, 2007) |

It is a different bike than the XB. I bet it doesn't shake or shimmy, There is no torque curve and it has about 50 more hp. I will just sit back enjoy my XB and if the lightning version comes out, See if it makes me smile like my current bike. I have to say those pods are ugly and that is from a guy with RSS. |

The 1125 is not a Buell! It is a Rotax in Buells clothing. I harbor no ill will towards the bike or it's owners as it seems to be a fine bike, just not a Buell. Everyone knows that Buells have no use for radiators. They also know that cams are afraid of heights so they keep them downstairs where they belong. |

>>> It is a Rotax in Buells clothing. Ill will aside . . . that'd be an terribly inaccurate statement. Erik Buell . . . was quoted YEARS ago . . . that eventually you'd see a water cooled motor. Rotax builds the motor. The motor would not exist absent Buell. . . . common oil filter element aside. By the way . . . that motor was pretty well ( a damned relative term that may be "started" to "well along") designed long before HD and Buell ever joined forces. You'll have to read about it. I will concede that the 1986 version had the air flowing through the split radiators the opposite direction. Court |
