Josh - hope it's still warm in St. Louis, then maybe it'll still be warm here in Colorado. Mine will get here around Thanksgiving. I'm at the mercy of the truck driver as to whether it'll be before or after. Looked at your profile to see where you wanted it to be warm and saw something about "heatrollers" so I started searching and found this... http://www.glumbert.com/media/rollersuit Hurry up Thanksgiving Z |

All dealers should know by now not to rely on HD-net to provide up-to-date shipping info!! We've seen several bikes pass their estimated shipping date, only to have HD-net tell us two weeks after the fact that they were running behind! I'm sure they will all be running a few days behind as Anon stated that they are going to be running slow the first few weeks making sure everything is going smooth and correctly. |

Wahoo! I’ve got a date with a young American girl. Born the 1st of November, she is dark, short and powerful. November 15 she will rock my world.

Sorry, we have some supplier delays on a couple of components, and ramp-up is slower than we expected. All it takes is one part not to be there and the bikes can't be built. Start-ups suck. |

I got a ship date but no delivery date. How long do you think I should plan on for her to get from East Troy to central Pennsylvania? |

As someone said before: "Please, take your time and get it right." For me, reliability is far more important then receiving it on time. |

>>>How long do you think I should plan on for her to get from East Troy to central Pennsylvania? Just a tad longer than you think. There (at least there used to be) is an odd shipping quirk with Buells bound east of the Mississippi. They have to go in the HD truck to York then they get put into other trucks for delivery. This may have changed but I'd allow a couple weeks. |

Court - I suspect that's still correct. We keep getting Blasts (up to four '08s now) on the same trucks as our York bikes. The last time we got an XB (September?) it was also on a York truck. Of course, we're only an hour from the plant so that may be convenience rather than policy... |

I'll bet there's a red face controller somewhere in BMC or HDI that is screaming bloody murder to get the bikes out. The decision to do it right is costing the company dearly. Let's just for the sake of ciphering assume there are 100 people like me that is ready to take delivery. At 10K net to Buell, that would mean a $1M instant income (through their revolving credit facility). Buell is deferring that until it is right. That is a courageous decision! It is as if you went to your boss and said: "Don't pay me for this week until I figure out and can rectify the mistake I made last Wednesday" Asbjorn |

"Buell is deferring that until it is right. That is a courageous decision! " As Anon stated, it's not the motor company delaying things further, it's a supplier that's caused the assembly line to stop. |

Court says: There is another side to that . . . . Buell, and this innovative process, are getting LOTS more attention than they ever dreamed. Very true (and accurate as you would say). My point is: Buell is prioritizing the customer, long term viability and future prosperity over short term gains. Not exactly the norm in today's publicly traded with quarterly pressure industry, I'd say. And BMC is to be lauded for it. If you can remember a post of mine from about 9 months ago (probably not), I criticized Buell for lack of processes and communication. I am eating crow (gladly I might say). The launch of the 1125R has proven me sooooo wrong! Asbjorn (Message edited by doerman on November 08, 2007) |

Last date from HD Net was 11/21. That's 4 days in the past with no further updates. Hoping for shipping to start this week with delivery towards the end of the week. Heated Grips are ready to deal with Mr. Winter. Let us know Anony, when the trucks start rolling. Z |

I seem to be one of the few individuals on all these boards that is not mad about the delay. I want quality and the job done right first. The other reason is I will not be back in the states until like end of December. This just gives my dealership the chance to install those heated grips I hope are ready by the time I get there. As I have to ride like 2 hours to get the bike home. Heated grips in December will be nice. Since I have not gotten to ride anything for the last 15 months I think my fever is burning more then most. I know of a dozen people here that are riding when we get back as long as the road is not frozen. Can't wait to have the wind on my, well on nothing really. As the Quiet Zone and protective gear keep me pretty well covered. Just waiting for the day to ride. Peace and chicken grease! |
