Well since Madduck was nice enough to loan his new bike without even riding it, and asked someone to start a list, guess I will start it up. Chime in anyone who participated in any way in the FBRAT epic adventure.

I only got to meet up with the KC group and Jerry in "Nowhere, Missouri" and ride a short way Monday. Enjoyed meeting everyone, sorry I couldn't ride with you longer and really sorry I missed the bbq in Lee's Summit.

I was able to help escort the FBRAT from Dubuque (on the Mississippi) to Waterloo. Mostly though, I just watched and laughed and explained to many of the spectators at the Field of Dreams why Ferris was running around a baseball field with a motorcycle. Luckily young Alex had cleared it with the owner so he was cool with the plan.

Mike,
You weren't on the field at the time, you were standing on the sidelines... There were sooo many kids asking 'Dad, why is there a motorcycle on the field' and 'Mom, is he crazy' etc. Loved the excuse we adopted, he's from California, 'nough said.

Don was cool with the whole thing, I'm sure Jerry will have the events leading up to the bike being on the field posted later. Erik is the man.

I was talking to the people on the bleachers. I'm glad that you still have a job, I'd hate to have you out on the streets raising a ruckus on that loud bike of yours.

Anyone know how to get a hold of Jerry? We are supposed to get together tonight at the Luxor with some other friends of mine from AZ. If I could get his cell #, that would be great. If not, can someone give him mine? PM me and I'll give it to you. Thanks.

Ebear,
Does any of that route include Anza Borrego? Seems like that would be an ideal area for the Uly. Of course soft blown sand on asphalt isn't too friendly to most any bike.

Mapped the Hells Kitchen to Rock Store and Rock Store to Santa Barbara portions of Sunday's 9/11 ride. Will meet the gang at Hells Kitchen and lead the group from there.

Ebear, are you gonna be shooting pix on this Sunday too? If so, I'll point out the spots for you to be positioned for the "Get airborne" and Venice canals shoots.

Sparky, did your computer estimate it would take 5 hours to get from the Rock Store to Santa Barbara? If so, you need to get some more RAM in that thing.

See you Sunday.

You do allow TUBE frame S2's don't you?

Jim_SB, No, LOL. 5 hrs was for the previous leg. It's 3 hrs, 42 min from RS to SB, but we can probably do it in 2 1/2 for Fast Ferris. The 5 hrs was a transcription error (ahem) from the mapper to the BadWeb. DOH!

All kinds of S2's are allowed. : )

Hi Sparky,

3:42????

Huh? For 110 miles? Lemme see, that's averaging about 29.7 mph?

Now revised to mebbe 2.5 hours averaging 44mph?

I get it. This is one of those "stop and smell the roses" rides. Okey dokey. ; )

So Sparky, are you coming to SB for dinnner at my place?

Anyone else? I need to have at least some idea you know...

Mikej....Actually Ocotillo Wells is at the southeast corner of Anza Borrego Desert.LOTS and LOTS of blown sand...might be exiting through Borrego Springs up Montezuma Grade....even in the Winter you can cook an egg on the asphalt!!

Jim,S-2's were already in attendance as mine original S-2 was along on the LV-Lake Isabella section.Left Vacaville and took 12 to I-5 to 99 to 108/120 over to 395 to 168 to 266 to 95 to 93 to Nellis AFB for about 700 miles the first day.120 rocked!!! As did parts of 168.
Left with the crew from Lake Isabella just so I could ride the Lions Trail with Jerry.Always a good ride.Had one moment going into hard right hander that had sand in it--sent the S-2 sliding both tires all leaned over, had to push off hard with the right foot and tweaked my back big time. Was so much fun trying to get off the bike at gas stops on the way home.
Big thanks to Jerry and Denise for the hospitality at the Thunderdome! And it was great to ride with Mark and Glenn.

Lost Jim Saturday morning then on to Wrightwood to pick up those going on to Ocotillo. Camped at Ocotillo Saturday night and peeled off from the group Sunday morning as we crossed th I-15.
