Just got back from a quick 20 mile night jaunt, trying to get those break in miles, when I can fit them in.

Took my XB9S for a ride yesterday with a friend on a Ducati 750SS. The weather here in East Texas was sunny and 62dF.

From what i read here and in the past, Tramp is a hardcore SOB when it comes to winter riding.

After a decade in the desert, I'm finally adjusting to these frigid central AZ winters. It got so cold today I had to zip the liner into my Joe Rocket jacket for a toy run. Nothing stops us tough-guy Phoenix riders. We ride come shine, shine, or shine.

Went for a short ride yesterday, amazing! 42 degrees and cloudy. 20 this morning and snowing so it looks like I picked the right day. Once the snow hits we usually don't have any more riding days.

New12r and I rode yesterday.
Started out about 45 and started dropping fast.
Blowing snow and a wicked wind had us heading home after an hour or so.
By the time we got home it had dropped to just under freezing.
It's 16 now, and I think New12r rode into work this morning, I wimped out a caged it in this morning, 30 miles one way in 16 degree cold...I just couldn't bring myself to do it...

7 here in Jersey today. Bikes in my shop at 70 degrees under a Buell cover. It will be a garage princess for the next couple of months unless there is a break in the weather. Time for an oil change and a complete maintenance detailing.

I'll be getting my need for speed and terror fix snowboarding Killington the first week of the new year.

Rode to the mall last Saturday evening. Came home in the dark (50 F & dry) with gifts packed in the hard bags. Seattle ain't so bad for winter riding if you're willing to brave a few raindrops.

Went out for about 15 minutes this afternoon to put a fresh tank of gas in the M2, since I just got home from school in Michigan. The thermometer at the bank said it was 12, and I'm in Southern PA. It's supposed to be decent towards the middle of the week, hope to get out a bit then.

It was damn cold riding this afternoon. That and the fogged up visor...

Well I'm jealous of the Buell owners in the warmer States. We're sitting at 16 degrees in Northern Michigan, with another 6 inches of snow in the forecast. However, my XB9S is sitting nice and warm in my basement at 60 degrees. Spring can't come soon enough!!!

Had a nice ride Sunday out here on the very eastern end of Long Island. Our usual group of 6-10 down to three. Got up to about 46, and sunny. The lads were going at it harder than ever, seems like they wanted to bank a little speed till spring, in spite of cold tires and roads. Glad I had softened up the suspension a tad.It was 14 degrees this morning, and about an inch of snow. They are predicting 56 degrees on Wednesday, so we are planning another "last ride of the year", if the rain stays away, and the roads dry out.

26° when I got to work today. Thankfully all the ice from yesterday was off the roads. Since it is 46° right now (and forecasted to get to 54°) the snow that was on the yards this morning should be gone by the end of the day. Hopefully the ice will melt from my driveway today and all will be well.

Tramp - I took a lesson with my teen daughters at Shawnee in the Poconos about 10 years ago and never skied again. I rode a Snurfer back in the early 60s as well. Any kind of board riding is fine by me. Started snow skating about 3 years ago.

It was mid 20's this morning here too. Leathers are nice his time of year. It's supposed to warm up later this week.

So nice to have no worries of snow.

I'm still riding as long as I don't have to schlep stuff around.

I leave the house well before 6am. Temps in Tujunga, Ca don't usually get much under the 40s. Makes for a pleasant, envigorating ride in. Really, the thought of being cold at these temps is FAR worse than how one actually feels - at least for me.

Was so busy for the last 3 months schlepping that I hardly got to get on my bike! Last 2 weeks have been good.

Looks like I'll have to put my window AC unit back in. It's going to be 5 tomorrow. You've got to love Minnesota winters. No plans for riding over the next few days!

My plans to ride in NYC tomorrow may be in question....someone decided, at the mere threat of a "dusting" to put a 1.5" layer of salt on the streets of Gotham.

I am more scared of sliding on salt than ice.

Hmmm...sounds like time to dig out the old or buy a used KLR. They work wonders in crud like that and are recognized as "Dirty Street Bikes." Ergo the salt damage and a the Battle Scars won't tarnish their image and will give you Braggin' Rights.

Keep the good bikes for better riding conditions and flog your Throw Away bike.
