Since you said you'd pay anything I'll sell you the one from mine for $6,000. I can either leave it attached to the bike or remove it at that price.

Check in the classified section of the site here under parts for sale and post a wanted ad in the parts wanted section. Much better response and I'm fairly certain there is probably a wiring harness available in that section.

A new one is 217.00 list price. Your price would be 195.30
Probably take me a week or so to get one for you.

Ride to the edge!

See if you can find the posts by Don Casto or Buellie Dan or Big Hairy Ralph. They all seem to have parts and harnesses for sale lately, and the whole wiring harness seems to be one of the last things to sell when people part out their bikes at least from what I've observed. Don may be off onto other ventures now though and his parts may be all gone by now.

Real curious about what went wrong with your bike, just as a mental data point.

Fuel Injection version Not sure if it will easily work for an M2. $50.

BuellieDan regularly has parts for sale lately and probably can find a harness in short order.

Ralph probably still has one sitting around if anyone does. Good guy to deal with also. Wraps his parts in interesting paper. ; )

V2Win also probably has a line on a harness sitting around unused somewhere and might be good to contact.

I always keep an eye on the classified section even when I'm not looking for anything. You never know when a need will arise. Hope this helps some. And if you don't want any issues with buying used stuff then dealing with Daves is probably your best way to go. Nice new wiring with no abrasion points is always a nice way to start a reinstallation process.

The loom does not have the head temp sensor wire. Some componets are located in different positions on the loom.

To what extent has your loom been destroyed?

I am the one picking up the X1 harness from Nascar Tom, but if it will work for you we can make arrangements since I was just stocking up for a future build. If you need it right now and it will work I will make arrangements for you to get it instead.

No, the X1 harness is wired for a different ignition module and for the injectors.

Someone modified or repaired your harness? The entire thing or a section of it?

Ping me and explain. I build/install stuff like this on aircraft from scratch.

Loki's right, Cruiser -- X1 and M2 harness are not interchangable, so you are left with, buy a new one, find a used one at a price you like, make a new one --

is this need a result of the kill switch probvlem you were having a while back?

He's got another thread going now looking at the speedo sensor, trying to identify where the speedo sensor is, and trying to track down a short.

I'm thinking an afternoon spent in earnest reading through a service manual will help a lot.

Buellcruiser,
Slow down, relax, take your time, think things through, take your time, debug items one item at a time. Calmly go through the symptoms, the analysis, the known problems, and possible causes. Work it out slowly and carefully. You may not need to replace your whole harness, and replacing your whole harness may lead to other issues and may not in fact cure the problem if the problem isn't with the wiring itself.

If what you found looks sort of like the sensor assembly posted in one of the links I posted here or in the other thread and if it is held to the top of the tranny area with one allen head screw, then follow the wire(s) coming out of it. It will travel along various paths for anywhere from 4" to 15" depending on how they have it mounted on your bike. The wire(s) should terminate in a connector. You should be able to disconnect the connector and that should isolate the speedo sensor from the harness. Your speedometer will now not work, but if the bike runs otherwise then at least you'll be riding.

I missed your original post that describes what originally happened to your bike, would you care to tell us again what happened? It sounds like something got cut or snagged and ripped apart your wiring harness. If something got snagged it could have pulled additional wires loose farther down into the harness protective sheething and any shorting may in fact be happening farther down the line from where you are splicing things back together.

Your profile puts you down near Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. I think there are a couple of folks occasionally on the site here who may be in your general area. Sometimes an extra set of eyes can help isolate problems. It's really hard to help over the internet sometimes, but we try.

no need to R&R the entire loom if there's a localised problem -- logic, a wiring diagram, and a distinct lack of urgency will almost always prevail

note, almost
