except he meant that he could take a short cut with the Millenium Falcon, close to the Maw Black Hole and have enough speed to keep him out of it's gravitational pull. That would cut an 18 parsec run to a 12 parsec run... |

Clubman looks great if you buy it with the right wheels,engine etc. My sister inlaw has one fully loaded to the gill's. Its fast and at the same time functional. |

The subject car would need to do nothing but move. Four wheels, room for a large dog and a briefcase.
Perhaps "disposable" would be inaccurate . . . but, as in the case of my F-150, a car that if it gets a bumper or a door ding it's of absolutely no consequence, not a minor disaster. Funny though how I park my truck way out away from the door and walk to a store and my wife shoe horns in car in the closest space she can find.
I agree that the Clubman, although the idea is cute, is about the ugliest thing I've ever seen on two wheels. It just destroys the "traditional" shape of Mini.
I had to laugh yesterday . . . saw a Smart car that was totally black with blacked out windows. . . looked like a piece of licorice. |

As far as the Clubmans being ugly I'd agree if bought base. Kinda like comparing a XB12S to the XB12SS. They stretched and made it ugly but it doesn't have to be. Heres a pic of one just like my Sisters but the color is Blue. I guess she really had a good time building on line. She just took the build sheet from what she did on the Cooper site and said build it.

I didn't yet. Got a "gift certificate" and am still trying to decide. There are some killer dealers (with Porsche having 2008, 2009 and 2010's on the lot at the same time as a result of a 4-month 2009 model year) at the moment.
We'll see. She and I went to the Porsche launch and had a great time. She likes the Boxster and the 911 more than the Cayman, I dig the Cayman.
The dealer who jacked her around on the 2009 Mercedes is the same one that sells Porsche and after she gave me the Uly for my birthday I'm not sure I'm willing to make the jump with them just yet . . . they kinda showed their colors. |
