Some folks have values that they are unwilling to compromise I would hope a sponser has values other than pure profit as a motive. I am on a car chat board that is very liberal and mods let it be know. Thus I don't buy from any of the sponsors. I might have been inclined to support the board. Likewise I will not buy certain products from companies that I don't agree with. | ||

So Uncle Sam is poor? Maybe he ought to learn how to better spend the trillions of dollars he already has his hands on. Fact: Mr. and Mrs. Obama, make lots more per year than Mr. and Mrs. Palin, yet Mr. and Mrs Palin gave more to charities than Mr. and Mrs. Obama. I'm not endorsing either party, but I do hand it to the Palins, I also like to decide where my money goes to help others, not the government. | ||

I kinda liked that cartoon up there - the one where Obama is spending like, what, quadruple the money on campaigning as McCain? I think, in this case, a nice redistribution of wealth is in order. What if you couldn't donate funds directly to a person, or even a party? What if for every dollar Obama raised, he had to give $.50 to McCain? And vice versa? No one lobbyist would own any particular candidate or party. And so no candidate would really owe anyone anything. Could keep the whole system honest. Liberals should love it, I mean, what could be more patriotic than donating to the overall campaign fund? It's simple redistribution, which they are fans of. And this year, conservatives would probably approve, since, well, I think they didn't do quite as well on the fundraising. Probably the first time in their lives that they would be on the receiving end of the redistribution. So, everyone should be happy, right?  ->ChelleM | ||

McCain was great on SNL last night. He has a great capacity for humor that has served him well. There is a portion of the republican party that wants/needs to hear the "red meat" comments to get fired up. Palin delivers that far better than McCain. It is not his style and it does not play well with independents he is wooing. FB, regarding the Obama statement. I looked at that also. There is a difference between Christianity and "religion".
