What parts of an XB12 crank would either have to be adapted/modified to use in a Blast, or could you use parts from the XB12 crank to stroke the Blast crank?
Stroking the Blast - what clearencing areas would I be looking at? So they had to clearence the XB case to fit the XB12 crank?
Inquiring minds wish to know - lol

An XB uses the "new" style sprocket shaft arrangement, i.e. a needle bearing cage and a thrust washer. A Blast uses the old arrangement, i.e. a pair of tapered bearings with a spacer in between them to set end play. You're better off to start with a tuber crank.

Alright - so what crank would I be looking at as a substitute, and what would I have to do to make it work?

start with a call to TRUETT & OSBORNE about stroker flywheels. but if it was my blast, i think i would just go big bore. sputhe and axtell both make 3-13/16 bore jugs.this would bump displacement up to 35 inches.

Halfaharley is looking for this winters project, and I want to keep my options open for next years winter project! This winter I just plan to ride, improve my skills, and finally dog the black with some track days after I upgrade the suspension with some Works pieces front and rear, and maybe some wave rotors - I'll will be getting to that soon - lol

Cause that would be four sitting in the garage!
I already have a spare parts Blast (for that Blast hardtale;0)), plus the Black and Red! - lol - have to save some room for that XB in my future! As it is the cars have been evicted to the street!

Back to the question - to use the XB12 crank I would have to machine the case to accept different bearings - anything else - the case would be open for milling for larger juggs anyway, whats one more step - lol - any other things that would need modifying?
