Ok a question that’s been ask before...I know about a eleven billion times. BUT here goes. Time for tires on my XB12STT and I am looking at three tires sets, the Michelin Pilot Road, Pirelli Scorpion Sync and the Pirelli Diablo Strada. I have the Syncs right now they did a good job, only thing is there are few good twisty roads in this part of Indiana and they are table topped badly. I was hoping that either the Pirelli Diablo Strada or the Michelin Pilot Road would stand up a bit better the this type of use. Any thoughts on what way to go? | ||

i had the sync's, now have the diablos. a little better than the sync's in the twisties imo, but they are a bit softer, so the table effect might be worse. haven't noticed it yet. i'm gonna try the michelin's next any way you go, you shouldn't be too disappointed. and if you are, you can post up for the next guy who asks this question  | ||

I've got Pilot Road2's on my S2, and love 'em. Haven't logged enough miles to know about the flattopping yet, but they handle great at the edge and ride quality is also very nice. Wet weather traction is also good. | ||

I have the Missionary Pilot Road 2 tires. They stick like snot and are supposed to wear well. Those other tires you mentioned are probably just as good, Ive never ran them so cant comment... | ||

I have Pilot Roads on all my Buells.Not squared off..............and this is in tabletop Iowa. What bothers me is that I can buy 4 Uniroyal tires for my pickup for $200.00 and get 100K out of them with ease. Can't touch a pair of Pilot Roads for $200.00..and they won't even get a sniff at any outstanding mileage.WTF? | ||

Try Metzler z6. Much better than the Pirelli IMHO. Having run both tire. The Metzler sticks better. They will square off but any tire will do that if you super slab it too much. Don't be a Lemming. | ||

i'm really starting to like the Bridgestone BT021's. confident grip for my experience in the turns and are showing good straight line wear as well so far in not so twisty IL. price is very good too, $126 for the rear and $96 for the front. this is my 1st new tire so i dont have anything to compare to tho unfortunately. | ||

just swapped from a sync to a strada in the rear. Unfortunately, I also switched from a 180 to a 170 so I can't be positive of which differences are due to tire size and which are due to type of tire. Stradas being a higher mileage tire than the syncs, I was worried about traction but so far I have no complaints. The 170 is a hell of a lot more flickable than the 180 was, and grip is 100% confident so far. Depending on when you're replacing tires I can try to keep you updated. Just out of curiosity - how many miles did you get out of your syncs? I replaced my rear after 9700 miles. No tread was left in the center, but no signs of belts being anywhere close to showing. I'm still running the front sync - looks like 3k left? we'll see.. | ||

Phillip. I got around 7500-8000 on the rear and the front's looking thin at 9000. I had to replace the rear once because of a nail and bad hole at 800 or 1500 I can't remember for sure BUT is was a couple of months after I got the bike last fall. Anyway I'm replacing both as the handling as really gone "Off" if you know what I mean. |
