Well not to sound cheep but I am looking for some one that might share some info on a wheel balancer or changer.
Drawings or blueprints are welcome.
These are to easy to make. I am just to cheep to drop 200 to 300 bucks on these & stress about not having the money for tires.

You can replace the no-mar bar with tire irons($25), rim savers ($5) and a few xtra hands and time..

If you lived closer I'd flip your tires for a thirty pack.

Jramsey I might take you up on that. Just as long as you let me get a decent beer.
I figuered that I used to mount & balance tires at one point in my life. I figuered building a balancer might be a good home project with my older two boys and a tech project that they won't get in school.
Plus some Father Son time.

I forgot about V-Blocks.
My son finally settled on casting the stands for this. I was going to weld the stands up but he thought playing in sand was a lot more feasible for the project.

I made my own balancer using a piece of 1/2" Thompson hardened rod and some 1/2" I.D. bearings. Then I had a friend cut some cones, drilled and tapped for set screws. I see the balancers like that are commercialy available for under $60.

Any way you decide to go, just do your own tire changes yourself, you won't regret it.

No problem. I was looking around after Tom B was looking for tires for his bike. I don't know if he has gotten raped yet. But the cost of a tire change has gone up just this year.

After looking I found a couple of forums that gave me what I was looking for. Who would of thought to look.

I will post pics of my balancer rig tomorrow.

I picked it up off of ebay awhile back. I only made one addition to it. Compact storage and it works great.

Now I just need a decent bead breaker.....

Sorry Mr grumpy, My intentions were to stay away from China garbage on the tire changer.
The wheel balancer I liked. MADE IN U.S.A.
I'm still going to make one.
