Has anyone has success with using ECMspy with WINE or some other windows emulator? Might work with Virtualbox and a windows guest, but I don't know if cpu power, flashdisk and RAM space would allow that. I guess, it will not. Best way: get Gambas and the palm source and do a port - I did a small test that it's at least possible in Gambas to talk to the ECM with linux and the EcmSpy cable. When I read about the eeePC it immediately came to my mind, that this device would be much better than either a regular laptop (too large) or a pda (limited display size). Unfortunately they aren't sold in Germany yet. My time does not permit to support another platform. So do it yourself or find someone who will. If you need support, ask. You guys have got to quit posting cool tech stuff like this, it's killing the ol' wallet. I don't see why you couldn't wipe linux and install Win XP. The system requirements are surprisingly low, except for the disk space required(1.5 GB). You could likely install Windows on a 2GB SD card, and boot from that, freeing up the internal memory You would need some sort of external CD-ROM to install Windows though. This little thing is pretty fast actually. It has a 900MHz CPU.
