If you have a parts manual, take it to your local HD dealer and do a cross reference.

I'd go aftermarket. Cometic aren't that much more expensive.

Complete as in you're splitting the cases?

Yes old case is damaged so complete tear down. What about C9855F with .03 head gaskets?

Aa mentioned above, I'd go with Cometics. I used a Cometic top end kit with my 1250 build. I've pulled the top end 3 times since and reused the gaskets with no issues or leaks.

I'm thinking of trying the Cometic C9855F with the .03 head gaskets. Anyone had good/bad luck with switching the std .04 head gasket for a .03 head gasket for a little higher compression?

You have to KNOW your piston to valve clearance to use the .030 gasket. Not think you know. Know. Pistons and vales work well together, but you should never let them meet each other. : )

Yeah I've done some research online on setting your squish gap seems pretty easy. Going to pull mine first and see what is in there previous owner has done some work on it.

If you have Thunderstorm heads and pistons with .497 cams, you will have plenty of clearance for .030" head gaskets.
