Author Message   Dunlop Posted on Sunday, July 20, 2014 - 02:27 pm:        I was about to throw away my K&N filter which I had on my bike because it looks pretty bad IMO, but my friends was like "nooo, it is K&N, just clean and oil it and it will outlive you". So how it is? Can be this bad looked one (which IMO experienced both world wars ) cleaned, oiled, and used again? Whats your experiences?   Dannybuell Posted on Sunday, July 20, 2014 - 02:56 pm:        Your friend is right. wash in a soapy bucket of water using liquid dish soap. gently spray rinse from the inside out. When the bucket water gets dirty start over and do it again.   Phelan Posted on Sunday, July 20, 2014 - 02:57 pm:        Could be worse. The K&N cleaning and recharge kit is the bees knees. My brother and I split one to clean our filters. There are no holes whatsoever, it is only a bit squashed - it was attached a bit too tight, but nothing bad. So I will try the k&n kit. Read the instructions and go easy with the oil. I've had this filter for almost 10 years. Comes out almost white quickly! Get the spray oil. It is too easy to put too much oil on it with the bottled oil!   Jayvee Posted on Monday, July 21, 2014 - 02:03 pm:        What's that green stuff called Simple Green, it cleaned my K&N down to off-white color, and extremely cheaper than the K&N spray wash.
