Well Gents, it has been a long time coming, but I am finally an owner of an S2T! This was my big purchase after returning from OEF, it couldn’t have happened without Trouble Enabler, big thank you to him!

So the story goes that the PO laid this bike down about 4-5 years ago, he had a buddy drive it home (due to his injuries) and never ran it again; the bike just sat in his garage. Trouble found it and posted the craigslist ad to Badweb and I followed up on it and was able to bring it home for $2K. The S2T has about 13000 miles on it right now.

I was pretty nervous about buying a bike that hasn’t ran in a while. That being said, I replaced the battery, pulled the carb and had a pro clean it (it was pretty gummed up), added new fuel and hooked the carb back up and wouldn’t you know it, the gal sprung to life on the first crank! Man, does she sound sweet. I took her around the block this afternoon and most everything seems to be pretty ship shape.

The list of repairs is mostly cosmetics. I got my new fairing today painted with the correct sticker (thanks again to Trouble Enabler for the donor fairing), new grips, new brake and clutch levers, new turn signals and mirrors. The rear brake doesn’t work, I’ve got to dive into that and figure it out.

I am still in need of a header (debating whether to wrap the pipes that are on now due to the road rash or pony up the $$$ for one on ebay or badweb), original saddlebags mounting hardware for the hard bags, (I’ve got the narrow bags, PO couldn’t find the bracket they go on), and always more.

Still trying to hunt down the signature series info for this bike. I found the original purchaser’s name on some of the paperwork, googled his name and actually talked to him. He said he might have the timing cover and some papers, here’s hoping! If anyone has info on that I would appreciate it the last four numbers on the bike’s vin is 0365, I have no clue if that means anything or not.

I am looking forward to getting this bike back to its former glory, I’ll try to keep you all updated. Thanks!

My other Buell has been in need of a stable mate for some time

Congrats Derick. They are sweet.

Your back brake may be something as simple as a stuck puck in the bore. If you can push it around, that isn't the problem.

I'd be replacing all the fluids and maintaining a list of all things done as you go along, right down to a replaced screw!

Enjoy your new ride.

Looks good Derick! Be patient on the header, one will pop up on ebay for $50 sooner or later.

Thanks guys, I have been finding myself in the garage just staring at the machine and those gorgeous lines. Yes, I just used the word "gorgeous". My wife is starting to wonder about me and my new obsession. Hope the M2 doesn't get too jealous, or the wife

Congrats! The more you stare the harder it is to look away.
