Umm, that looks like a twin cam? not an X-wedge. Looks like crossed pushrods.

tell your friend ..John?>>> with the SB100 motor that twin motorcycles(ad on site ) in the netherlands makes a 19row FORCED AIR oil cooler that will bring temps way down . We are using the S&S SB100 engine (but 113ci=1900cc) drag race spec backed down to 185 hp 165 torque and with a forced air oil cooler (but bigger) temps never go over 200 degrees . TWINS model is the same size as XBRR race bike model . 175$

Don't judge the X-Wedge by the Bourget POS. That bike was screwed up from day one and it didn't have much to do with the engine. That bike has one of the first 5 X-Wedge engines built, so yes it had some issues, but the regular production engines are rock solid now.

Bourget loves to blame S&S for their problems. That's probably more than I should say.

What other X-Wedge bike have you worked on?

If you want to follow the latest X-Wedge updates, they have a Facebook page with fresh info on it.

Search "X-wedge engine by S&S"

Jeff you probably won't get found out. I can't imagine very many people who would build own or ride a Bourget would be reading a Buell website.

Sorry to continue to take this thread off course.

Here are some "good" X-wedge bikes. The gray one was ridden by Don Cannet in CycleWorld and he loved it. The red wheel'd bike is still in the S&S test fleet (but now with a different tail section) and the Leno bike was paid for by Mobil 1 and built by S&S for Leno.

Anyway, the 100" is a kick ass engine and is kind of the "no brainer" as a friend called it. You can build a more powerful XL engine, but you can't order a more powerful one out of a catalog.

How bulky are those X-wedge engines?
Can one be adapted to a sportster chassis?
Ho much do they weigh? compared to an EVO + tranny?

The overall height is the same as an EVO, but because of the wider V angle it is longer.

The XW engine weighs 10 lbs. more than a S&S 124. Not sure how much more the 124 weighs than a stock EVO.

I don't think you could really put one in a sportster. Doug Wozney from LaCrosse, WI did just put one in a stock FXR chassis by stretching the frame 3 inches. It turned out very cool. It is a 132 with prototype dual carb intake.
