I'm looking to buy a used rear shock off of a 2001 X1. Are they the same? |

I cant tell you that for sure ,but i can tell you to measure your shock from middle of eye to eye. its either 14.5 or 16.5 and they will interchange as long as you change the front mounting bracket accordingly. the brackets go reasonably cheap on egay. If you need the mounting bracket for a 16.5in shock i have one you can have. |

Make sure you're not buying a recall take-off shock too. A lot of those things used to show up on ebay. |

Very little is the same on the two, but Wikid is right measure your stuff and match accordingly. |

search a recent post about this. It may be worth your while to see if you can get the recall done on your bike. Apparently according to Buell customer service the dealerships are supposed to still honor that and the recall replacement can still be found. This will get you the shorter thicker shock and mounting bracket installed free. |
