what grit are you using? Are you going to bring the grit to over 800 before you polish?

Looks good.

I found Sanding Grease from an industrial polishing supplier and it works well. Makes the job go quicker.

It kind of lubes the paper almost like wet sanding and you don't get all the dust.

Keep 'er goin'

I normally do a regular sand up to 1000...

THEN, wet sand with 1200....

THEN polish... brings a NICE DEEP polish...

Actually, I dont like the mothers. The stuff I use, I have to pick up at a T/A, travel Center(truck stop). Its a "White Rouge" basically. Works incredibly. The mothers, eh, I not fond of it at all, its starts to haze the polish after a while.

It wasnt to bad the only thing that sucked was you have to take the oil out of the bike and take your oil filter off because it hits the frame when you drop the engine. Make sure to unhook all your oil lines from the tank or you will have some issues. But other than that it was pretty easy, oh one more thing.. to take the swingarm out there is a torx bit that is huge its like a 60-65t and you have to put some back into it to break them loose.

Cool, thanks for the tips! : )
I'm itching to get my bike back on the road, so I'm going to leave the swingarm in for the moment, maybe do it after Christmas...

+1
I bought a swingarm so I could polish it up without taking the bike out of commission. I knew there was a possibility that I'd get lazy and not finish over the winter. That was two years ago.....
