I am running the full Buell race kit on my M2 along with Andrews N8 cams and an HSR42. I have toyed with the idea of a Forcewinder due to the fact I no longer have the knee clearance I had with the stock breadbox on the right side. I am concerned that the Forcewinder might not flow enough air at WFO. Anyone have proof (dyno-wise) that this would or would not be a factor?

What are you using now?

...as far as air cleaners are concerned?

If you have the Buell air cleaner do not, I repeat DO NOT switch to a force.

The force has no where near the CFM that the Buell Race Filter does.

I do not have proof, as that dyno sheet is looong gone.

But if Phatty speaks up he was with me in the dyno room when we were runnin it on my bike.

It showed a loss of HP over a filter simulare to the Buell Race filter...

Here's a link to the dyno comparison between a Forcewinder and race filter.

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/3842/11192.html?1113852451

I run a Forcewinder on my race kit equipped M2. The race kit filter only lasted about 45 minutes before it cracked when my knee hit it. I put the Force back on. My seat of the pants dyno pretty much matches the real one.

"Observations: the extra intake length of the Force is giving it an advantage over a specific rpm range. It actually outperforms the zero-restriction configuration over that range despite having it's filter in place.

"Looks like the Force is tuned for about 5000 to 6000rpm, which ain't a bad place to put it."

"I fell into one by accident, I bought a bike that had one on it, Susy's S1. I moved it to my M2 and put the M2's race kit filter on the S1 because I needed more knee clearance and Susy didn't. Well, much to my surprise, the M2 picked up top speed. So the turbulence isn't hurting it too bad!

Anyway, I went from being a skeptic to being a fan."

These were all quoted from the thread posted by the tuner who ran the dyno tests. I know there will be some disagreement... but that's not a bad thing.

I personally was very disappointed by the race filter. I like the way it looks, but hate the way it works.

if your bike is retalitavly stock ie making under 90 hp, the force is fine.... if your 90+ at the wheel, loose the force luke.... on spidy's bike, and mine, we both picked up hp by loosing the force....... his bike is stock displacement, mine is 1250... both with xb heads, and se536 cams..... by the way, i'm puttin down 103.9 hp, and 88.6 lbs

It's the K&N filter that comes with the race kit (with the carbon fiber ham can).

anyone have any experience with airtech's air box? Just picked up a 2002 m2 stock except for a vance & hines exhaust. Not looking for any more power just want to get rid of the big stock air box.Not to sure about the foam filter that comes with the airtech's box. Thanks for your help
