So, you just paid $40 to $60 for those super bright LED Turn Signals. You take the time to install them and what do you get? Hyper-flash! Finding out you need to spend another $20 per pair to fix this may not sit well with you, I know it didn't with me. Here's a simple fix. Go to Radio Shack, buy one 8-Ohm Non-Inductive Resistor (Catalog #: 271-120) per turn LED signal for $2.49 each. Install the resistor "across" the LED signal, meaning one leg per wire. Now how you make this connection is up to you. I recommend that you solder an extension wire on each end of the resistor, wrap the entire resistor and bare wires in electrical tape and then splice the new wire into the turn signal leads to install. Not everyone has access to a soldering iron, so if you're in this boat, you may have also noticed that your new turn signal connector barrels are just a bit smaller then the factory ones. You can push the resistor leg through the little barrel crimp and put a "hook" bend in it, leaving that wire on the outside of the barrel and then plug it into the the factory connector. This does two things, 1, it makes an electrical connection for the resistor and 2, it helps to prevent your new LED wires from vibrating lose. (how embarrassing!) Now I know that $20 isn't a lot of money to ask for someone to solve your problem. But if you're like me, you get a certain satisfaction from doing it yourself and knowing that the actual components cost less then $5 just gets under your skin! So, all you companies who sell these kits, you still have a customer base, this information is there for those of us who don't mind getting their hands dirty. Besides, even if you paid for them, you'd still have to connect them yourself! | ||

Yes that will work BUT you don't need 1 resistor per bulb (4) you only need 1 per side. Or you need only 1 total if you use 2 diodes to join L & R together. Thanks, but the answer is two. You only have one flasher, you only need to load each side, so that means two resistors. At $2.49 each it's still less then half of the cost of your plug and play solution. Remember, there are plenty of solutions out there on the market, this thread is truly for the "do it yourself-ers" out there. | ||
