Hope all made it home ok. I am at the ironhorse recouping from a hard day of riding the dragon and cherry cola. Thank you Kristi for another great outing. It was great to hang out with ya'll. |

Hey Mike! Glad you had fun. Carlos said you got a really good picture of him. If you would, e-mail it to us at ncgirl (at) earthlink (dot) net. |

Jim- Sounds good to me. Just let me know when you're ready to trade. |

I'd like to trade bikes for a week or so to really get an idea of what it's like to live with an XB12X. That's how Webe ended up trading his Dyna for a Uly! He had Carlos' Uly for a week and couldn't wait until he could get one for himself. If you're not into the Uly, don't take your wife for a ride with you (unless you want 2 bikes). |

That's what I'm trying to sort out. I dig the Uly for what it does, but I really love my Firebolt. Most of the time I'm happy with the Firebolt, but there are definitely times where I'd like to have hard bags and better passenger accommodations. Currently my budget still only supports one bike at a time, so if I decided to get a Uly I'd have to get rid of the Firebolt which I really don't want to do. If it were just a matter of adding another bike I'd already have a Uly. |

Kristi, I didn't take any pictures this weekend, I didn't even have a camera. Final tally for the trip, 6 days, 1760 miles, about 35 gallons of gas, 2 tires worn on the sides, footpeg feelers that are a tad shorter, a ton of grins, and a desire for MBV to start tomorrow. Thanks for the great time. |

UT-16 to Seattle you might want to add an extra day in that area, or try to make up time on the trip there. You will be afterall crossing the Rockies! I'm so jealous! |

Jim, be sure to bring toothpicks to prop your eyes open while going through the mind numbingly boring state of Kansas. |

A short break as I try to catch up on a weeks worth of missed badweb. Hopefully I will be able to add to the Germany trip report soon as there is a LOT more to it than I've had the time to post. Here's my odometer in Florence, SC on the way to Atlanta Friday.
Here's some pics from Friday night in Hotlanta. A lifelong (OK, maybe not quite that long) ambition, I'm no longer a V at the V(ortex)!
Have you ever tried taking a picture of a black motorcycle at night? Fun, ain't it? 1313 |

Oh yeah, this was cool too! I don't know if it was intentional or not, but don't the center of the onion on my burger at the V kinda look like the skull at the entrance?
Sorry for the poor pic quality, but apparently taking a picture of food is more difficult than trying to take a picture of a black motorcycle at night... 1313 |

Hey C3'ers. If any of you are in the mood for a long ride this weekend, come on down to SC and join us for a fall Buellers meet. (See thread here: http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/37/ 130123.html?1192147568) We're meeting at the Cracker Barrel Restaurant in North Charleston, SC (near the intersection of I-26 and Ashley Phosphate Road) at 11 AM on Sunday (October 14). We're planning to head up to the Francis Marion National Forest (about 25 miles north of Charleston) after eating and do a loop on some of the backroads in the area. (There are a lot of well-maintained dirt/gravel roads through the national forest too.) I know it's short notice, but if you're looking for someplace to ride this weekend, come on down. The weather promises to be great. Hughlysses (Message edited by hughlysses on October 12, 2007) |

Unbelievable...I found out today the Greensboro pd still have my long lost/stolen chain saw in their evidence room.Been sitting there just over FOUR years. U4euh and Rubberdown know the story, and a long one at that. I'll try to keep it short. My son's friend, who stole it from me, high tailed it up to NY days after the theft. I called the cops, and they found my saw, within a week,at a local pawn shop. They contacted me, told me Mr. Strong, we have your stolen property. Then I asked "great! when can I get it back?" I never got a real answer. The thieve spent several years in NY. His own mom eventually kicked him out, so he made his way back to NC for more handouts. I knew he was back in town, but did not press it. A few weeks ago, he was a passenger in a traffic stop, had to show his ID. C'mon bud, you are going downtown. We gotta warrant for your ass! Since then, I've been corresponding with mail forms and phone, with the GPD. Truly, I thought the GPD had auctioned my saw. I bought this saw in '78 when I was 18 years old. A used Mcculloch at that. It was still running like a champ the weekend it was stolen. They just don't make them like they used to. What REALLY pisses me off here is how the PD can legally hold the victims items for evidence until the punks come to court. I 'll leave it at that. Later... |

Ulyrider2006, The Mercedes Benz building in the background of some of the Classic Bike pics is actually a dealership. Kind of interesting how the Mercedes dealer in the capital of Germany is so much more than in other areas of Germany. Especially when you consider how the Buell dealer in Berlin pales in comparison to some of the Buell dealers in other parts of Germany. With that segway, I've updated IT! But the BEST is yet to come! 1313 |

HELP: anyone in/near Winston-Salem, NC? me 'n D are trying to lend a hand to a rider badly injured at about Milepost 230-235 on the Blue Ridge Parkway late Sunday afternoon. he was riding a BMW that was struck by another motorcycle. he was taken by ground ambulance to Hugh Chatham Hospital in Elkin, NC, then airlifted to Wake Forest Baptist Memorial in Winston-Salem, NC. in spite of our best efforts with the two hospitals and with the National Park Service, we've been unable to get the rider's name, and hence have been unable to get any info from Baptist Memorial on the rider's condition. we want to help this rider if we can, but have run out of options from this distance. anyone have any ideas? Hello Jerry, Sad to hear this. The crash hasn't come up from any of the club members here. I don't know of any BMW riders personally that were on the Parkway over the weekend. Will check around and let you know if I hear of anything. Thanks for the note. Regards, Keith Nunnery, President www.carolinasbmwmoa.org |

Just talked to The Boy. He's warm and dry and sounds great. Says Kansas is much more beautiful than he expected. Not sure he'll make it all the way to Limon, CO tonight, but his goal is to at least cross the state line. He's aware of the snow reports and has gotten some good re-routing advice from the locals. |
