Well, at least I know I can get the scooter out of the garage and down the driveway...The big meltdown is on here...60 deg in the sun and tomorrow is supposed to be nicer...Doesn't seem to be a whole lot of interest here in STL in riding tomorrow...I know John has to work but the others???...I'll have a few HSTAers in tow and you will enjoy them...Sam, they're really anxious to see your ride...

Hey, I was taking a look at the map and once we meet up in California we could ride up 87 and then back down 179...I've ridden 179 and that section along the river is pretty good...The loop back to 50 in Jeff City from CA is about 36 miles and then back to CA is a total of 58 miles for you guys...We could then eat in Jeff City which has a much better choice of restaurants...Anybody have a fav restaurant in Jeff City?...With a pork chop, maybe?...

Just t-clocked Pumpkin and she's dirty (like a good moto should be) but oiled and aired...Poor Pumpkin hasn't been out in about five weeks and she was almost talking to me in the garage, begging to be taken for a ride...She will also enjoy some fresh feed...

Well, it's off to the ice races this evening...Do the ice racers make a stop in KC?...

See Ya!

Bob

Dave I don't know where we are meeting. I'd say at a gas station there in Cal. Sam is coming and won't see these post till he gets in to work Monday. He doesn't have a computer at home. See ya.

I have a computer at home but don't have the internet hooked up! I will be along for the ride and am trying to muster some other troops as well...we'll see, (non-Buellers). Did someone say something about running and screaming wimmin? I didn't see that in the brochure????? Will see you all in the morning. I got a Digital camera for christmas but couldn't find a memory card for it today(sigh!) This just means I will have to update my profile soon. I also have some buell goodies maybe now I can get some pictures posted and sell some of these things......mirror relocator for tubers and xb9s'

See you in the morning.

Bob, good going on this one!

Great day and even finer company...It was most enjoyable to ride with you guys again and Joe is going to make a nice addition to the MOB...I didn't tell you guys because I thought it best not to run letter roads given recent weather but there is a connecting road from 87 over the 179, Hwy N, that is better still than what we rode today...But those county roads can be all pea gravel as ours are here...The Burger Haus turned out to be a pleasant find but you gotta admit they need to figure out a better way to match orders to customers...Sam, I bet what you said you'd do next time there actually happens...I can just picture someone coming in, sitting down, saying hey that's mine, getting the food, pocketing it and walking out the door...Must not be a big problem, though, or you would think they would have changed their procedure...

Hope everyone arrived home safely...Our return was marred by a "motorcycle moment"...As you know we rode back 94 from Jeff City and at Bluffton there is a ninety degree left turn that is just over a rise that make it blind and it had two big sheets of water right in the turn...Dr James tried to turn his F4i into a GS...He thinks what happened is in trying to make the turn he grabbed a bit of front brake...Apparently it was a bit too much and he low sided...His frame sliders worked REAL well and about the only damage apparent was that the high bracket holding the muff (on the right side of the bike???) snapped...But he was a muddy mess...There's two ninety's at Bluffton...A right hander as you come down off the bluffs and then this left hander...On one of our rides this past summer we saw a life flight evacuate a winger who went over the center line and head on in the right hander...The GL was actually cut in half...Soooo, Dr James got off easy...His gear worked well...One thing about Hwy 94 get offs is that if you don't hit anything those fields are REAL soft...And muddy...And stinky...We wanted to hose James off in the truck wash at 94 and 19...By the way Joe, good to see the way you were dressed...See, we notice these things...The rest of the ride home was less entertaining...

I see that our flat lander did almost 400 miles today and none the worse for the wear...DAve, somehow, and I didn't think it possible, Tiger gets greener the longer you're around it...You gotta love that tripple...Lot's of low down torque and high up HP...Tim didn't have his clear shield...You guys should all know by now that if you ride with John and I two things are guaranteed...Big (s)miles and it's gonna be real dark before you get home...

We should try to meet up like this as much as we can...The regular rides here are:

1st Sat...Leaves from Chesterfield Valley Power Sports

2nd Sat...We meet HSTAers from around the state in Rolla for lunch

3rd Sun...SLAB/HSTA ride from the Eureka QT and we usually go south but if I knew you were coming in and staying over Sat night (hey, it's lonely with the kids gone) I'd plan a route to a lunch destination west of STL...

As soon as I hear from Leslie and Rob at DGMR I'll let you know...I want to keep this to KCMOB, SLAB and Mo-SIL HSTA, if possible...Bigger groups are really getting to me...Wonder why?...

Soooo Bill, guess you're going to bring your ice skates on our next confab...I'm just glad both you and Dr James were not hurt...Are you sore?...James is and it will be worse tomorrow...

John, we all missed you today...Somehow it's just not complete without your, uh, well...You guys know what I mean...

See Ya!

Bob

Wow!!! All I can say is, I had a great time. It was great meeting everyone, and the riding was some of the best fun I've had all season. Too bad I didn't meet up with you guys earlier! Bob is the ultimate tour guide!!! Those whoop dee do's and Sam's wheelies were enough to keep a grin on my face for the rest of the week.

Hope to ride again soon, Joe :)

Hey SLAB had a good time. Bob I am fine and nothing is sore except my throttle arm from just riding. Good thing I was only going about 5mph. I had no idea I was going onto ice till I was there and 1/2 second later I'm sliding. Only about 6ft but hey thats what my tires are for. So I was being cautious already. It could have been worse. It slowed me down out in the country. I wish we could have had more time.

Glad James (and the bike) is ok...it was great fun seeing you guys again. I think we ought to do that alot more too...just wait till summer when there's no ice on the roads, hehe. Maybe I'll have my frame back by then *SIGH*

We missed ya John. In a manly kind of way of course, LOL. Maybe you can play hookie next time ;)

Richie,
Damn, man..are you getting more hyper as time goes on or what? hehe. Minds me of a lil kid with an ice cream cone that he just could't wait to eat ;) Oh and BTW..man that was fookin close coming back....there's no way you could of been more than 1.5' away from that Silverado's bumper. I thought he was gonna run over you, man. People suck..that's all I gotta say about that.

The Harley guys are too slow for us...I vote we meet somewhere else that day. Maybe even eat breakfast again or somethin, hell I dunno.

Went riding today for bout 100 miles. Took Eisenhower road to county 10, 187 and hooked up to 92 all the way back through Atchison, and to Leavenworth. Man, that's a secluded road. I loved it, hehe. All there was out there was cows and hills. No people :D

p.s. Oh DAve....I can "make" them the same color, don't think I won't ;)

Frank lets meet at Central and go riding from there. How about meeting around noon or so.any other suggestions? On the siverado,I started to go around the guy and he sped up!There was a car in front of me in the right lane,so I just got over in front of the truck. After I got in front of him,he hit his brights and got close,no biggie. He had some problem, guess he didnt want me to pass him for some reason,as I was going faster than him I kinda was comitted to either getting in front of him, passing the car on the right shoulder,or hammering the brakes.I chose option 1!I thought about slowing way down then tromping it and leaving the guy,but I didnt.I was a good boy:)Im open for an earlier meeting time or place to meet, somebody make a decesion!

Topeka has a ride that leaves at 1:00. I won't be riding. I need to get rid of this cold for good. Sounds like you guys had some excitement in the back with a truck.

I rode that ride, in freezing cold and some very plesant days, for years. I rode it 13 years ago today on my new Buell.

Happy New Year....and be sure to take 6th street and Hwy 40 from Lawrence to Topeka...I want to see if you can best my Lawrence to Topeka time I set on my XR-1000 :)

Hey Court, I beat your time easily. I usually did it in reverse, from Billard to Lawrence on the river. Well, maybe 20 feet above the river. And don't whine to me that a Bonanza has more power than an XR....

I was younger then, I'm smarter than that now.

>>>I was younger then, I'm smarter than that now.

Make that two of us. And, if you were in an A36, you'd have beat my time in my Saratoga (N38188).

But....I'll bet I have a better "chick wanting to go for a ride in an airplane" story at Lawrence Municpal than you do!

(P.S. - are the TeePees still at TeePee junction? I confess to helping build the Tanger mall and, possibly, contributing to their demise)
