Just back from Harborzoo, and... well our little buddy is pretty banged up. Gots a tube stuffed in each and every hole that came standard, and they've added a few new one's. His head is swelled up like a soccer ball, stuff is beeping and wheezing, bells go off now and then... I took him my new 'own the corners' cap, won't be wearing it for a while. All 'n all he looks pretty creepy, but like Deb said, he's stable. I told him we all love him and we're waiting to hear what happened.

P.S., I may seem to have a rather Devil may care attitude, but one must take into consideration that I've been a trauma/e.r. x-ray guy for 21 years, and I've seen some amazing recoverys. I trained at Harborview, and Little Buddy couldn't be in a better place in Wa. state! Plus I love the Roadrash, and I know I've spent more time in bed with him than any of you!

blushingly, Galen

Galen - we all know you well enough and know your intentions. You are one of the nicest guys on this board - would do anything for anyone - as would all the other members here. Thank you for going up to see him and extending love to him - that is what matters now.

Shotgun, no puddle of oil, Not sure what is going on with it, but I started thinking back to the glowing red header while it was just warming up, and I think that is bad. My mechanic agrees, he said, think about it, if the header is red, what color do you think the piston was? And then it all made sense...So, all in all I think Buells suck, and will more then likely never buy one again. Lesson learned, if something seems to good, it more then likely is!!!!

Wow!

Just back from a Badweb sabbatical and I find all this ER drama stuff unfolding.

Brandon....I've been there buddy (except the broken back thing) and it's not fun. Rest and dream of better times. Like an awesome summer day riding Windy Ridge with your friends. That always works for me. Most importantly be Positive!

Duane: I'm relieved to hear that you are on the mend already. Knee issues are a real concern though. Usually the first sign of a motorcyclist too. My prescription is Tequila. And a lot of it. Try to get down to Portland for the Daytona Party. It's good karma.

Galen: Loved the candid comments. No B.S.
We all know you to well to think that your heart isn't in the right place.

Thoughts and prayers are with you all.

P.S. I'll have a tequila for you too.

Cheers

S1hoolie, I think I can speak for most of the FOGG, so I will. Sorry about your Buell discovery. But, well... hmmm. Seems most of my Buell buddies are on some sort of British bike these days. I just don't understand a bike with 3 pistons, and runs on tea. Seems kinda funny to me. But then my 2banger has confounded reason more than once, and left me waiting for Bob by the side of the road. Which brings me back to my main point; the people I've met through owning my Buell make all the bullshrimp worth it. Well not WORTH IT in a $ and cents sort of way...

ps. I hear them tea bikes are pretty cool...

HA! Jimmy funny that you would mention Windy Ridge today! As I am typing this "our" Mountian is blowing up! I was driving home and saw the biggest plumb (sp) and it got even bigger! How cool it was to see it go. Chris got the camera out and has some good pics from the back yard. I hope we don't wake up to a bunch of gray ash all over.

Lo and Don, I e-mailed you directions to the house. Please let me know that you got them!

Loni

Not to worry. St Helen's just blowing off a little steam so that we can all get together for SPLASH 2005.

Wouldn't want her to "POP" on our awesome weekend.

Really hope our two comrades will be back at it by then. Right Brandon & Duane.

I'll tune into the news tonight.

Cheers

Loni,it's PLUME--like a plume of smoke---
S-1,mechanic is off base, think about how thin your header is and how thick your piston is.I would drain oil and see how much is in it,easy enought to do,then refill recommended amount.Pull plug and see what it looks like--fouled with fuel or oil, bits of metal--(bad thing),check compression,go from there.

BTW: As it stands now (not counting any snow that might be on the road) the road is blocked at about ten miles from the bottom, at the restaurant and souvenir shop. You can't get all the way up to the Windy Ridge look out point.

Plumb is a weight on the end of a string, used to establish a true vertical. Good for when you're hanging wallpaper in an old house.

Yeah, and a Plumber is a guy that Desparate Housewives want.

Get well Duane and Roadrash.

As hard as it is to say, Kim, Mom's dying. Her heart is giving out. She's got congestive heart failure, very little strength and looks like hell. I'm gonna sneak her in a beer next time I go over. See if it will cheer her up. Thanks for asking.

Sorry to hear that Shotgun, my Dad has Congestive heart failure as well. He has had like 4 heart attacks and they say he has limited time. Also he is not a good candidate for a transplant due to damage done to other parts of the body during the heart attacks. You should sneak her in some Weed instead of the beer, I know from talking to my father...LOL..

For any one who got to see my Batteltrax performance, you'll have a pretty good idea of what my M/C drive test went like. Except that I didn't have Chris there to point me in the right direction for when I'd go mavrick...but we all had a good larf and I'm now legaly permitted to carry a legal permit to ride my bad motor-scooter!
All they'll tell me on the phone about Brandon, is "stable". And that's good, but I'll have to make a trip to find more details.

Congrats Galen!
Now your all legal like, hope it doesn't ruin you mystic. I still need to get my Idaho license and suspect I'll have to do the drive test too.

Oh Duane and Brandon,
Sad to hear about the getoffs. Glad to hear your still with us and on the mending path. We only met briefly on Splash 02 but my heart goes out to you and your loved ones. Hope you both hair over quick.

Shotgun,
Sorry to hear of your Moms losing battle. My father-in-law has a similar condition but he's still able to get around on the good days. I hear alcohol is good for the heart now.

S1hooligan,
The red hot pipe is an indicator of a lean condition. You most likely have a jet clogged in the carb. No big deal, just take the float bowl off, pull out the jets and clean them up, drink a beer and all should be better.

And Loni,
Bragging about the weather and the party, you suck. We have nice weather here too but I have to fight the wife and kid for the remote. I'll figure out a way to enjoy Daytona somehow. Did you pass 5K on the sporty yet?

Loni

Just to rub it in a little. We got the patio set out yesterday for the party, can you say 72 degrees tomorrow?

Thanks to Chris and Loni for the best weekend this year! Had a fabo time, and just got home.
Good news on the Brandon front, the little bugger is talking, pulling out IV's, and trying to get out of bed. Second thing out of his mouth, after the intubation tubing was, 'where am I?', then 'does my family know where I am?'. Next was 'I love you' to his granma, then, 'where's my bike!' Sounds like he's all there to me.

Chris and Loni, Thanks for a great weekend!!! We had a great time. Really sorry about the TTR : (
Let Don know how much the damage comes to and he'll write you a cheque to cover it.
He really had a blast and has totally caught the bug... argh! : D
Cool day at the track! Hope y'all had fun today.
Miss everyone already... I guess Don will have some shorts to wear in the hot tub next time... since he conveniently left them there lol!
Anyhow, we got over the border about 6pm and travel went smoothly with John at the wheel. Thanks for the ride John!
Take care everyone and have a good week.

That's great news about Brandon, thanks for keeping us informed Galen and for your various other talents...

And it was good to talk to Duane... hope he heals up quick!
