My wife and I went and looked at a 2009 1125CR this evening. Completely bone stock with only 6969 miles. Priced at $6000, I wanted it pretty badly. We went to USAA and walked out approved with the lowest possible interest rate. Should have the check in hand and riding her home no later than Friday. I'm super stoked!! I'll post pictures as soon as I can. Any recommendations on mods? Gotta keep it cheap until I pay it off...

Mods? Get the loan removal mod ASAP. Loans on toys suck.

the guy at the bank chuckled when i told him the mileage. i thought it was funny too. and as for the loan removal, it'll probably be paid in full in less than a year. it was part of the deal with my wife not to do anything too expensive until we have the loan completed. fair is fair. thinking about a second job now... maybe another deployment, it paid off my 12r in 3 months. choices, choices...

As far as modifications go I would get an aftermarket muffler and a race ECM.

Keep it stock. All I recommend is a Race ECM, and a 2008 stator. It is a fantastic bike, you are going to love it : )

Why retrofit a 2008 stator to a 2009 bike?

because in general no one has problems with the 08 stator. seems to be the 09's that crap out.

the made changes to the stator in 09.

went and picked it up today during lunch. man, that bike is quick! i did notice that it had 1" drop pegs, so i swapped them for the ones off my 12r. i felt that they were putting my feet in a strange position. stock height pegs are way better. that front end gets pretty twitchy under hard acceleration. i'll probly end up getting a steering damper from American Sport Bike. once i get more comfortable on the thing, i'll start riding it how it was meant to be ridden. this bike is great!! i'll post a few pictures in a little bit.

No need for the damper, you just need to get used to the bike and learn the throttle : )

It is more twitchy, as it has a superior motor, chassis, and suspension. Due to the fact it doesn't have a boat anchor for a flywheel, the motor spins up very fast and puts the power to the ground quicker than any clunky heavy fat XB. I can't even really ride my XB much anymore due to that, the bike feels like it is half asleep in the twisties. The CR on the other hand is just waiting for you to get the ass end loose by giving it a good twist.

I tried the search with no luck- Talking about the heavy crankshaft on the XB's- why can't we have lightweight crankshafts like the one on the 1125R? Falicon makes some impressive 4" stroke cranks for the Evo motor like this one:http://guelph.canadianlisted.com/motorcycles/felco ni-race-crank-for-harley-evo_236285.html

You can. In fact, the 08+ XB has a lighter and stronger components. I have an 04 motor here in pieces, one of the things I plan on having done is shaving about 60 lbs off the flywheel.

i took the xb out to flog on it a little today after riding the 1125. i ran into the rev limiter half a dozen times. i forgot that i had to short shift it. guys ask if one is more beastly than the other. i tell them it's like comparing wolverine and the beast from x-men. they are both complete animals, just different styles. i love them both.
