should this bolt be this far away?
just dont look right to me mabye thats why it looks kinda rusty at the top of the header pipe
might also be a source of backfiring?

It does look weird though.. It would seem to have a gasket and be tight.

420, mine did the same thing,allthough it broke the stud off the front pipe ,cause of my light home made exhaust,replaced it with a new stud and new ss nuts,torque is 15ft/lbs,does not go in much more than yours,'tho.

420 thats normal. looks a lot cleaner than mine though.

Perfectly normal. The exhaust headers use a crushable, one-time-use steel wool gasket - if that plate were flush against the engine, you'd have major problems.

Mine looks just like that and there is no air/sound coming out of either header.
