My low beam bulb burned out. From the knowledge vault I found out that it is a standard bulb available at auto part stores.

I have the service manual but I am still not sure of how to replace the bulb. Do I have to remove my fairing to get to the headlight assembly. Do I have to remove the headlight assembly from the holder if I remove the fairing?

Also, if I remove the fairing and headlight assembly, do I have to realign the lights after reassembly?

man, its been awhile, but from what i remember i thought you could just reach up behind the headlights and turn the back of the bulb and pull it out.

i could be wrong but it seems as though there is plenty of room behind therm for that.

i think??? there is a big rubber cap over the back of the headlight assembly covering the bulb up though that is easily removable.

Reach up and pull the rubber cap off. Release the springs that hold the lamp in. Unplug the wire. Reverse with new lamp.

Thanks guys. It was a 3 min job.

For some reason I did not realize that the rubber boot just slipped off. That is why I was thinking I had to remove the whole headlight assembly. Sometimes I miss the obvious.

Thanks again.

Don't touch the glass of the bulb - oils from your fingers will shorten its' life.

Grab a set of SilverStars to replace with.
