Please PM me. Do not post here.

I tried searching, but no luck. IMHO a good thing.

I lost the keys, ordered new ones.

The bike is a 03 XB9R firebolt.

My service manual is at home, if it can wait until tonight I can probably help. I hope the steering lock was not engaged.

I've stolen a few cars in my life but never a bike.
Cars are simple. Pop the ignition insert screwdriver and turn.....
I'm GUESSING bikes are not much different...

It's not in there, but all the info about what wires to cross will be there. There should be a schematic that shows what connections are made when the switch turns to the run position, it is probably about three different wires that get juice. Problem being I think it will be a semi permanent hot wire mod because I think the switch has a long cable that comes out. You can probably make it work where the first connector is located and using a bunch of the correct connectors terminals and some wire.

This picture makes it look like it might be more simple than I'm thinking, but I'm not sure if this is an S or an R switch we are looking at:

From this thread if you need the whole assembly:

You might also be able to remove the switch portion from the bottom of the lock, then turn it with whatever fits inside. Not sure if the switch is held on with screws or rivets (or if the rivets can be removed and replaced with screws).

Needed to read cant post live how too.

msg sent. I run no keys on a couple bikes.

had to use two safety pins once on the road. lost keys hiking.

pin, pin, tape done. push start button. well if its not in the lock position. if in that position just unscrew the key from the housing then pin, pin, tape and done.

Thanx guys, I'll give that a try. It looks like I will be able to start it.

Putting gas in might be tricky.

Page B-17 if your manual is the same as mine. 4 wires, 2 reds (same signal) R/BK and R/GY. There is a little chart that shows what the switch connects when you turn it to the different positions.
