This is a lame question but recently I cracked the little plastic end cap that goes on the end of the stock bars. I bought a replacement but can't fit it into the bike. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get it in there? Am I supposed to heat it up first? Tried pounding it in with a rubber mallet but it wouldn't budge. Was afraid I was going to crack the new one too. Thanks. |

My advice would be to replace the plastic caps with good bar-end weights. |

I have never been able to get one of those buggers to work, ended up getting HVMP weights. |

If you do not want the bar end weights go bye a Bicycle shop and see if they have any for sale without bar tape unless you might want it, put they usually have a load of spares. If too small you can add some "Electrical" tape around the inside of the bar end plug. |

Try a smack with a shot-filled hammer - worked for me. Just be sure it's square and your fingers are clear. |

put them in the freezer for a little bit. It might shrink them down just enough. |

Have you tried KY Jelly? If that doesn't work go with barends, mine are great. Your hands will thank you on long rides. |
