I could have sworn I saw this thread within the past two weeks, but I can't find it. Doing multiple searches has turned up nothing... after a simple "running lights" search for all of BW gave me ZERO results, I knew I was outta luck. Recently there was a post about some dual channel, billet LED turn signals, and I think they were on Ebay. Someone else posted a link to a real company that carries them. I'm interested in purchasing a set. Can someone PLEEZE point me to the thread, or the company? I dunno why I always have such an issue with this stupid search function..... ~SM |

Man!! I lose them all the time too. And apparently just not smart enough to search them out. The upside though is all the stuff you find along the way. BadWeB is just full of interesting distractions. It doesn't take me long to forget what I was hunting in the first place. I did a googleBadWeB search and found your post. It's like going in a circle. There were some others too though. did you try that? I searched "billet led lights", and I think "led running lights" But what I really meant to say was "don't ask me". Rotzaruck! |

That is exactly MY FRUSTRATION with this software - a thread goes into "archive" after some period - and EVEN IF you update it, it is still "archived" - meanining that NOBODY KNOWS you just posted to it. All other BBS that I'm aware of will bump a post back up front if you post something... not here. You have to contact a custodian and ask one of them to bring it back out of hiding. Same thing is happening with my racebike resurrection thread. It has been on hold while I've been waiting for the re-lined cylinders to arrive and now that they're here, the thread disappeared. I'll update it and then have to get one of the custodians to "un-archive" it. Painful and primitive. I suppose we could communicate using clay tablets and pointed sticks - that was used for communication for THOUSANDS of more years than the internet. Apologies to Blake and the custodians - I do appreciate your work - but this HAS been a source of frustration for me. Now that I know that I can request a thread to be brought back out of hiding, I suppose it's OK - but still a pain since it takes action on the part of a few people to make it happen. |

I'd have to agree that badweb has a few quirks that I would love to see changed. Thread archiving is one of them. The inability to quote is another. And not being able to create a watched topics list keeps me from putting this into my startup tabs. I'm a bit spoiled though. I usually lurk in an automotive forum that has an extension application available. With about 600k users they even have a motorcycle forum... Check out the Hotties-n-Bikes thread Mmmmmm. |

The inability to quote is another. Copy and paste? This is the only board I check. What ability am I missing out on? (not trying to be a smart ass) I agree, I have never had any luck with the search function. (Message edited by Doughnut on October 11, 2008) |

I have no problem quoting. Anyway, you can go into your profile and select your favorite topics, they will get emailed to you as people post. I got everything on badweb except the KV, thumper forum and tuber forums. My Inbox is busy Oh yea, even Blake hates the archive system, and says it will eventually be gone, some junk about it getting cold in Hell or something. |

quote:I cannot agree more strongly. For three years or so now, we've been patiently waiting for a major new release of the existing Discus forum software, but it has yet to transpire. We're fixin' to make a major investment in converting the entire existing BadWeB forums over to vBulletin. We already have VB installed and running on teh server, and are hoping to go live with a thoroughly upgraded site and forum before Summer is out.

Alright. I see that quotes can be made in this forum. How's it done? And I wont put up w/ having my email spammed by replies. It drives me nuts. I might find it more tolerable if I only got 1 that a new reply had posted (w/ a link would be great) within the last 24hrs. I don't want every comment e-mailed to me. "HOTTT/WTF?/OMG!" Doughnut. There are all sorts of different features on various forums. Zeroforum (I think that's what it's called) has some nice stuff, what's most impressive is that the extension (google: firevortex extension) allows all kinds of great stuff. My favorite being mass PM to buddy list. If I'd like to organize a drive I don't have to send everyone I know a separate message. Maybe I just need to spend a bit more time on these forums...But I'd rather be ridin'. (at least till the snow flies) |

Click help at the bottom and then click formatting, it will give you the details on how to use it. Basically you type a backslash "\" the word quote, a left bracket, the text you want quoted, and then a right bracket. Hard for me to demonstrate without activating it. Do the following without a space: \qu ote{hi2u} |
