When applying the front brake while moving on my XB12Ss, I hear a chirping noise, much like cicada's cry. The faster the bike is going, faster the frequency of chirping. Checked the front caliper, the front rotor, the pads, etc. Everything looks normal. Brakes fine too.

Anyone have the same problem?

what pads do you have installed? I know that my Lyndall Golds make a buzzing noise when I apply the brakes. It is perfectly normal.

My brakes buzzed with the stock pads as well.

I have been using EBC pads for a while and do not remember hearing any noises caused by the pads. They also have a nice progressive feel.

It is not uncommon for brakes to squeal, especially if water has been on the rotor overnight. Different pad/rotor combinations make different noises. Of course, if it happens in concert with pulsating it can mean a warped rotor. As long as it stops well and doesn't feel strange, you should be fine.

I think our bikes just do that. My stock pads did it pretty loud, by gold ones are not as loud, but still there.....

My EBC HH pads make a hissing sound.

Yes I'm, using Lyndall Golds.
It's not squeal sound, but more like cicada's cry or fishing reel at work. I didn't have that noise with stock or EBH HH pads.

I have asked that same question, and was told that it has something to do with the fact that the rotor is floating. The little springs inside the mounts buzz or something. It doesn't bother me any more.
