I'm thinking about rearranging/adding to the headlights on my Ss, but I'm worried about pulling to much juice from the electrical system and A) overheating some wires, B) draining my battery out on the road, or C) both. Can someone tell me what the maximum safe power draw is for the lighting system, so I can plan my lights accordingly? Thanks!

Just use the factory circuits as triggers and add relays and run new wires. Use LEDs to reduce current loads.

+1 on the relay if your installing a
"home-made" kit.

check over in the Uly section as there are a few guys who have 4 headlights.

You can google up maximum chassis wiring for particular guages of wire, and I have posted links to charts a couple of times here. Watts = volts * amps, so you can do the math to go backwards from there.

When I put in a HID low beam, I ran a new wire with a relay, but knew it was probably not necessary. Now that I think about it, I probably would not do it that way again. The HID will inrush a lot of current, but not for long, and not long enough to heat up the wire enough to hurt anything. Once warmed up, the HID will draw less then a normal bulb.

Now if you are adding more filament bulbs, you probably do want another wire and a relay.

You can add lights no problem to it. Most PIAA's come with all the wiring they need.

Here is the PIAA 1100X on my SS/STT

They are mounted on a Gary Light Bar. Made by Badwebber GME.

Hooks right up to the battery

My switch is right below the seat, just reach down to light em up : )
