So after a much needed (but more tiring than anticipated) spring break, I came back home to the bike and sought out the cause of the brake fluid on the tank. With a handy flashlight, I found the leak by squeezing the front brake. I found a small dribble coming out of the place where the front brake line meets the reservoir. The front copper colored washer is the culprit. The leak was on both sides of it, but only at the place indicated in the picture. It seems like tightening the nut should fix it, but that sounds too simple. Is this all that I need to do? Does anyone know what would've caused this in the first place?

Here is a picture of the underside. The phone was about in the same place as the right turn signal.

I have seen some funky copper washers brand new out of the package. sometimes they dont get punched out correctly and you might have a small section that has a weird mark or groove. I would say if the bolt is loose, then try tighting it, if not remove and replace the two copper washers. and like Lamo said bleed the system.

I'd remove and replace both washers, then bleed the system.

+1 on new washers and re-bleed. H0412.01A0 is your part number, price is $2.10 each. Small price to pay for brakes you know will be there when you need 'em...

The hose probably got bumped and loosened the banjo.

Tighten
bleed
ride

Don't mix the order.

I was afraid it wasn't going to be that easy. Thanks for the part number and the advice.
