it really bites when people think I'm riding a 500cc motorcycle or something. I know what you mean. Around here I get "what's that?" When I tell them a Buell Blast they go "Oh, it's a Harley." Had a guy on a small Duc Monster do that to me and I asked him how he liked his Fiat. He didn't laugh. |

I always get the small bike thing, and head light burnt. I am 6'3" and 320 lbs so I look a big on my 04 XB12R. When I line up with some one on a jap bike and roll on the throttle leaving them behind without the fear of flipping backwards due to the massive counter weight that i am they just linger behind. The other night at the gas station this drunk guy came up to me saying how cool my bike is(he knew what it's a buell.)Then his friend walked up and asked what type of bike i was on the drunk guy said "man you've never seen one like that! Its the hottest bike out its even better than red beans and rice! LOL I just smiled |

I've gotten the headlight out comment before. Today I was waiting for a light in front of a crosswalk and this guy walking through with his family sees my bike and starts to circle me and I can see him trying to pronounce the name on his lips, looked like he was saying "Booooall" |

Filling up the other day and a middle aged fellow comes up and comments on how nice my bike is. I thank him and he then says that I should turn it off when filling up. The fan was running at the time and I said to him that it makes that noise from the factory and that I could not turn it off as he requested as it was in fact nuclear powered and the fan was in fact one of the cooling items needed to make it safe to use on the road. Never seen someone back away from my bike so quickly before. Would not let his children come within ten feet of it even after I was inside paying for the fuel. He just about ran to his car when the fan shut off. |

thanks guys. the parts came off my old flat tracker. so its all real. i did try my hand at road racing in the 70's with a tz 750. its all fun.. the old iron head is quicker than my buell, the extra gear gives the buell the advantage in anything over 1/4 mile. but again 61 inches vs 80 inches. and axtell heads and sifton cams and belt primary and alum clutch and on and on. so the buell is holding its own. |

The biggest problem I have is all the questions people ask about it. Most of the people who have ridden with me in a group are REAL impressed after a curvy section of road - where their Ninjas and Hyabusas can't keep up through the tight stuff. Granted, when it does straitens out and they take off at 100 mph + speeds I do lag behind, my excuse is: Fast? Anyone can go fast. I just don't see the thrill in it. |

I don't make excuses if I felt I had something inferior too other bikes I would but then again if I thought that I wouldn't have bought it too begin with. We have a brand that is geared towards a specific group with a specific idea of whats fun in motorcycling. I don't expect people who don't own one too understand. These motorcycles are like me as a person different a little weird kinda cool and kinda not. People are never sure whether they love or hate me just like my bike. I ride alone. |

The BLAST® is quite, in it's own right, an extraordinary motorcycle and there may be more Harley-Davidson hiding in there than you know . . . It's a wonderful bike and it I were buying TWO Buells tomorrow. . . one would be a BLAST®. I really hope Buell runs with the platform . . . |
