hi all last time i put a post to this site it was to bitch about the 2003 firebolt with 15,000 ks that i had purchased that shit its self after 2 days of owning it.
the gearbox made very funny noises
after many months of working on the source of the problem it turns out the previous owner at some stage has run the oil either low or out as the gears were all blue
now after 10 months of rebuild i am back on the road and am keeping the faith buell for me
cheers
ps want a 2007 xb12r but looks like the 200812r is even better

Ouch! I'm glad that you kept with it and got it back together.

Previous owners can be the bane to your existence when purchasing a used vehicle, and something like that is
invisible from the outside. I would suspect that they knew what had happened (or it would have still been low or
empty when you bought it.

NOW the real fun begins...You get to ride the wheels off of it!

From what I've seen in pics NZ is almost a motorcycling nirvana. I wish I could afford to visit and bring my bike!
