Can you pop the ends out of the traction grip to use them with bar ends, end mirrors, etc?

They don't just pop-out..but are easy enough to cut out..

I put mine in the freezer to harden them, used a kitchen, saw type, utensil, used to cut pumpkins, to cut out the ends.
