Hylnmrt, Welcome aboard. Check the classified ads at BadWeb, or post your own wanted ad. Ebay is also a good source. Badwebber DaveS will sell you a new one for 10% off if you want to go that route. |

Hey! Another Mainer! Welcome to the "true source" for Buellers, I'm up in Ellsworth. Have you spent an hour on that without any discomfort other than leg room? There is another disease called "leadbutt" that is discussed here. It is basically a numbing/painful discomfort in the posterior. I think primary cause is the amount and quality of the cushioning in the stock seats. Some of the solutions mentioned here are aftermarket seats, external seat cushions, and inserts that can be inserted into the seat (upholstery work required). If you're experiencing that also, you might want to work on both issues at the same time by raising the seat height and improving the cushioning. I have a 2000 M2 Cyclone, bought this year with 2,100 miles on it. On that, leadbutt starts in 45 to 60 minutes for me. I took a 4 hour 200 +/- mile ride the other day and the discomfort was getting "very distracting" near the end. I've just started experimenting with better quality foam, would like to get my stock seat redone with more and better foam and/or a cushioning insert. I have a 32" inseam, I could handle another 1" or so of seat height and leg room. For interstate cruising, you can put the passenger pegs down (I have the rubber covered ones) and rest the front of your ankle or shin there to straighten and relax the legs a little. That leans you forward a little, straightens the back, and it feels like a good change if your speed is keeping some of the weight off of your hands. Feel free to email me at jacker at midmaine dot com or via the PM mail in my profile, I'd like to get together with more Buellers in the area. I missed the Stoney's Ride due to some last minute social pressure. My bad. Jack |
