BTW-the quality of the Trojan scoop is excellent.

The price is totally subjective; obviously, I bought one, so I thought it was "worth it." Since my fan rarely runs at all (today 1 hr stop and go traffic at 85 degrees) I am a very happy customer indeed.

Of course, I have the product, so unlike OneBuell, I get to do a valid evaluation.

I wish my scoop were out, I'm working on it fast as I can, it's in my toolers hands now.

People want them, I want to provide them. I think they are a good aesthetic mod, and I believe that they do help to cool the rear cylinder at speed, which is a good thing. I don't think they're snake oil, if I did, I wouldn't be making one, plain and simple.

As far as vendor/sponsors overcharging/ripping off our customers, I know what I pay for things, I know what I make on things, I know how much time I have to put in to make a living doing this. I am comfortable with how much we charge for items. If there is anything that we sell that we could be charging less for and still deliver the same quality, well, show me the way and I'll be there.

I've received a bunch of feedback on the crap CF on ebay, and I know that you get what you pay for. We've been getting a bit of squeeze with this low priced crap coming out at the same time that CF raw material pricing has shot up substantially. We haven't raised our prices so I make less as a result. If the market won't bear the price based on these costs, we'll just turn it off. If you don't like the costs, don't buy it. It's really that simple. Near as I can tell, the pricing on the good stuff out there seems to be pretty comparable across vendors. The cheap stuff, well, it's cheap. If cheap is most important to you, well, buy theirs.

Al makes good stuff, pure and simple. Good value, integrity, etc. How can this be better?

If you don't like the price of an item, it doesn't mean anything, other than you won't likely buy the item.

Don't make your value judgement into some form of righteousness. It only means you are not willing to buy it.

Let others vote with their credit card.

'i see that alot of your products are straight copies of Buell, RRC, American Sportbike

there are probably several other company products that you copied and did not originally design, but i am not going to cross refrence them all, you know which ones they are'.

Ron, you could not be further from the truth! We are the UK distributor for RRC, Free Spirits and other companies, as well as designing and manufacturing our own parts. We have NEVER taken moulds or copies from any other aftermarket producers products and never will. Having products following similar concepts happens all the time and a lot of these are developed seperately and independantly by different suppliers at the same time. A good example of this would be the XB airbox solutions. They are all very similar because that is what works!
Together with our European partners we will stringently uphold copyright issues and will not hesitate to take legal action against pirates. We would expect nothing less from other reputable suppliers.

As for your other comment:

'tried to buy from trojan once but he didnt want to sell me what i wanted, he thought i might copy it(this was his first attack on my character)'

You have only stated a very small part of our reply to you regarding this, and that is been quoted wrongly anyway. If you want to re-read our original e-mail to you will see that our reasons for not selling partial chain kits were:

'The reasons for this are three-fold really. Firstly we are not happy that parts of the kit are used with other components not supplied and tested as part of the whole package. In the unlikely event of a component failure we would be unable to offer any form of warranty because of a mismatch in components. We are also concerned regarding disreputable people buying only the individual peices and copying the parts. We don't in any way suggest that you are one of these people but have decided to make the policy of only selling complete kits from the start. The third and final reason is purely down to development and production costs. This has taken 2 years to get to the production stage and is still a very expensive kit to produce as everything including the sprockets is cnc machined in small batches. In order to recoup some of the investment that has gone into it we need to promote the whole package rather than component parts.'

We do not claim to have invented, developed or tested every product ourselves. We would not be so arrogant as to claim that. I was making the point about ALL of the reputable companies being ripped off by pirates.

"What else don't you have that you are an expert at?"

Expert at ringing out 92,000 miles on a 1999 FXD
in 6.5 years.

Something your Buell scooper riders will very unlikely do in 6.5 years.

That's my challenge mr. and mrs. scooper riders.

I will be waiting to see the results of
92,000 mile scooper bike vs. 92,000 mile non
scooper bike.

Like i have said, if the scooper don't provide
no long term benefits then it's "snake oil."

What a putz!

No one claimed this scoop would do what you indicated above. The scoop is supposed to bring more cooling air to the back cylinder, which is does quite nicely.

It is also claimed to "add a balanced look" to the bike, which is does nicely.

Two for two.

Off to remedial logic for you!

More scoopage may or may not be better (I think it is, up to a point), but it does look cool.

Aesthetically I think that regardless of its benefits, the right-side scoop obscures too much of the engine. I like to tell non-rider folks who ask about the bike that "it's basically a hot-rodded Sportster" and watch 'em look at the cylinders and nod - as if they know what I'm talking about.

My 12R's fan runs every time I finish my 6.5 mile, 12+ minute, city street commute (max speed: 45-50MPH.) The only occasions this doesn't happen is on those late winter/early spring mornings when the temps are in the 40s.

Lately, I've heard it running on the expressway(!) after an hour or so of 75-80mph and 85 degree weather. So: I can see why some folks are concerned (especially given rising seat temps, which aren't a worry for me so far- thanks, Aerostitch!)

If I'd seen before now a plastic, sub-$150 right-side scoop that matches the factory scoop, I'd probably have bought it on the spot, and rear cylinder head temperature data be damned!

Onebuell,

Please cease participation on this board until you can think of and manage to post something something more positive and helpful or at least interesting.

Everyone else, please ignore those who troll. Ignore the troll.... ITT.

Matt,
Thanks for clarifying the issue and handling it with such class, though in our minds you should know that no such clarification was ever necessary. It was immediately glaringly obvious who in that exchange was of questionable character and dubious motives.

Ronlv,

I'm still waiting for your retraction and apology. Please be man enough to offer them.

Visiting Florida was... interesting. Living there in, say, a metropolitan area would mean the jokes get old even faster. I'd probably have to change my name to Michigan!

Plus, I'd definitely need a right-side scoop.

the time no nooo don't do it ! and keep your eye
on the sparrow... you talkin' ta me?
you got a problem with a guy who rides?

I mean 92,000 miles in 6.5 years sure ain't
no million mile man I met (all on beamers)
howevah, if you got a problem with people who
actually RIDE long distances and push the
limits of human mind concentration on the road
then what the heck are you doing hanging out
with Buelligans (some of who do 9,000 mile
total tour rides)?

Warren G.,

For a guy who's only been here a month, you've certainly made an impact.

That's not necessarily a good thing.

You might want to contemplate on your attitude.
