Check engine light should come on if 02 sensor is the problem.

i had an O2 go at around 2k miles...pull the sensor out, clamp it in a vice, and heat the end up with a propane torch...the reading should be around .8 "somethings" on a multitest tool (electrocnically calibrated)...my read at around .47...hope this helps...if you need more info, met me kjnow and i can look up the tech data...

ciao,

Did you get your TPS reset for the 1000 mile checkup?

I did not get the TPS adjusted. I replaced the O2 sensor and it seems to be fine. Only road for ten minutes though.

I blasted it with a torch and it did get up to .8 something volts.

Did your bike break up and run real rough and then decide to have the TPS adjusted?

That is one of the signs the TPS is out of synch. Meaning the throttle is open more or less then the ECM thinks. The O2 sensor can go bad in a short amount of time and is not as uncommon as people think, but as was said, if it were the O2 sensor you would have a check engine light to indicate a problem with it.

No, just that at 1000 miles your suppose to get it adjusted. I have the race kit on mine and have not had any problems.

I forgot to mention the engine light came on. I pulled over, shut it off. When I restarted it, it was off but came on shortly. Right after it started to run rough. Went home read the engine codes. It was the O2 sensor and the air intake sensor.

It did'nt come on after installing the new O2 sensor. Maybe the air temp sensor was related.

I better get the TPS adjusted and the codes cleared.

I'll repost if anything else happens. Thanks for the info.

Check your wiring harness up near the ECM for any chaffed wires. That is an odd combination to have come up with codes together for, yet are in the same area in the wiring loom.

Went to the dealer and they reset the tps. It's running pretty good. I hope that was the problem and now it's fixed.

When I called to make an appointment, they said they were booked until June. He told me to call back. They took my bike in and reset the tps. That was pretty cool of them.

9 chances out of 10, the wire coming out of the o2 sensor rubbed and grounded out on the top of the motor. it happened to mine, and a few other local buellers. i was given the helpful tip to layer a few pieces of shrink wrap around the wire to prevent it from grounding out again.

That was the same symptoms mine had when I installed the race ECM and a pipe. Check engine light didn't come on until the bike warmed up. TPS reset and everything is fine. Never bothered to ask what codes were registering.
