I had one fry on me after 7miles in May and they just sent me one for.... cost, I think. 99.00$ I'm happy they are supporting their product despite its use in a buell.

Who is running a compufire these days? how is it working?

What did you do for connectors? Compufire suggested it was my install that caused the failure. So I need some help with connectors. like vendor and part numbers

thanks todd

NIce. I should be able to find a connector for the stator.

Has anyone bypassed the original + and - output into the harness and simply wired the new R/R directly to the Battery?

thanks, todd

Fastphil,
+1 to roadstercycle.com. Their VR kit is excellent, although not a Compufire.

I installed the Compufire last weekend. Used Finedady's example, but used crimp connectors instead of soldering. I also put spacers between the VR and the frame mount so it could get some air movement there too.

No issues so far, only 750 miles though.

So I'm using Compufire and have a custom rewind stator wound to 2009 specs, wiring harness upgrade removed.

I'm with Gofast, over approx. 1,200 miles all is good w/ Compufire and Custom Rewind stator. (Bike has been down for a while, doing other mods)

Are you guys connecting R/R directly to the battery or through the OEM harness?

Thanks, todd

hildstrom...this "The FH012AA MOSFET-switching-type regulator switches individual stator phases off when there is excess voltage"

is not true from what i read it's still a shunt.(much better shunt and the same as i am running)
but road cycle offer this http://roadstercycle.com/Roadstercycle%20New%20Ser ies%20Regulators.htm
series regulator wich does switch..

Nuts4mc thanks for the info.I should have been more specific.I was looking for the buell type connectors. I was wanting to make a new harness using the mosfet connectors and vr on one end and buell connector on the other.Just to start fresh.

I believe if you source a FH008 from a 2003 and up CBR600RR - the wires are potted into the VR - cut off the Honda connectors and cut off the Buell connectors shrink sleeve and solder the wires (butt connect) (yellow to yellow it don't matter which - the DC (+) is closest to the center of the VR and the DC (-) is closet to the edge of the VR...the FH008 handles 30 amps - suggest an inline fuse on the (+) line ...good luck

I used the terminals and wire from my recall harness for the stator.
new fused link to the battery with a full size blade.

PS i noticed roadcycle states the new series regulator can not be mounted under the rear seat and is reccoment to be put out front in the air stream.
