I wanted to try again to post up my dyno graph and some pics of the bike. I just got the FMF, Buell Racing ECM, and Ohlins shock installed and took some pics. I must say I am pretty pleased with myself.

Rotating the engine to install the exhaust was a complete PITA and took way longer than it should have. Now that I've done it, it should go more smoothly at valve adjust time.

I had the headers, mid-pipe and collector ceramic coated by Grand Stand Design. I am totally pleased with their work and price. I requested the Tungsten Gray finish. It is pretty close to the engine color until closer inspection, good enough that the exhaust pipes don't look so out of place. For those of you considering it, DO IT! Within 5 minutes of shutting down after a ride, the pipes are cool enough to touch, cooler than the radiator hoses! And I think they look awesome!

As far as the ECM goes, I haven't noticed that much of an improvement in fueling, certainly a bit smoother but the added power is obvious and my bike always seemed pretty smooth to begin with. Those I've heard complaining about reduced engine braking, well it's not like you throw a false neutral on overrun, the braking is still there, just noticeably less. Without a slipper clutch (yet) I will take the reduced wheel hop on downshifts any day.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention, I have the after dyno scheduled for next week, and the FMF full is LOUD! Not as loud as every other Harley I see, but loud. I used to struggle to remember ear plugs, now they are as essential as a helmet.

I pulled up next to a guy on an R1 with I think a Yoshi exhaust...you couldn't hear his bike next to mine.

Freight_Dog - damn man your bike looks SWEET! I really like the ceramic coat on the pipes. nice.

Any chance you can take some video walking around it idling, and maybe a run on the bike to listen to the exhaust?

I wish i had the $ for the full Ti system, but this is one of the full systems i'm drooling over. the full non-Ti system is a bit of a stretch already...

Sure Sl33py. I'll do it tomorrow, and thanks! I would have loved the Ti system myself but yeah, that is a lot of cash. I had to grab this one when I did because Motorcycle Superstore was blowing them out at under $1300. I would have loved a Free Spirits system but I couldn't argue with the price or the fact that Erik Buell Racing had a tune for it already.

My camera is a Sony DSC-H10 still camera with 1080p HD. Not sure how well the sound will come out, but we shall see.

I will post up the dyno sheet on Tuesday as well.

Nice looking bike.

What is the CF on the clutch cover for?

Freight_dog - thanks man!

Good luck on the Dyno! Did you do pre-exhaust runs? I appreciate knowing what it can do for a similar bike... and how it should sound!

GL!

Two_seasons, yes it is just some CF bling. I also have the carbon hugger, belt guards, pulley cover and I had to get the heel guards from Trojan Horse. Is there any weight savings? Yes, but not much. The carbon may weigh half what the plastic parts it replaces do but they aren't exactly heavy. I definitely saved more weight getting anodized aluminum M6 screws for the bodywork at a fraction of the price. All the carbon set me back almost as much as the exhaust.

Video of bike idling added to the flickr account. It only allows 1:30 of video for free so it cut off when I revved it.

that sounds freaking amazing!!

the arctic white is growing on me too... holy crap F_D - lucky b'stard!

Looking forward to the dyno difference vs stock, and any more vids you can post. Would love to hear it above idle and even just a run in a bag to listen to it wind up a bit.

what are you doing for blinkers? see you have block offs... Sweeeet bike brother!

Nice pipe Freight_Dog. I have the same exhaust and love it. The top end power over stock improved immensely on my bike.

I am surprised your dyno before and after are the same.

Yeah Swede, not sure what that is all about. I don't see how a full race system can only make the same power as stock. Same dyno, same operator and I put several hundred miles on it before the dyno run. Oh well, it does look sweet, sound badass and saves a lot of weight so i will run with it for now.

Sl33py, I have the XBlights integrated taillight and I wired the turn signals into the running lights and popped in amber bulbs. I used bullet connectors so I can just unplug the lights and plug the stock mirrors back in. Thanks for the compliments!

James - i keep going back to your flickr pics to drool.

I also am really surprised the dyno didn't show significant improvements.

at this point (dreaming and saving) it's down to this system, a keda RT 1 or 3, and finally a Drummer or APH.

WAY back in the day when i got the bike i also scored a Buell full race fairing kit - so whatever i get has to accommodate an eventual belly pan.

If you get the time and can - i'd still love to hear it above idle and maybe even just a run in a pocket or tank bag to hear it wind up a bit on the road. Pretty please!?!

I will do that. I am away from home for a couple weeks for work, but I will get another vid when I get home.
