Which of the three pictured will have the top speed? Triumph 955i, Buell 1125r, Corvette. What is top speed of 1125r?  | ||

I don't know but I think we should conduct a governmental research study which is grant funded for a year. By that time i should have enough data based on me driving the corvette to give you the correct 1125R answer. | ||

The Corvette ZR1 and Z06 will do 200mph, but the cell phone pic appears to have a base model Corvette. I recall reading that the top speed is about 165mph depending on what transmission you got. | ||

Can't be. My 1999 C5 was good for 172 and the C6 has better aero and more power. Transmission doesn't really matter as they are all significantly overgeared. KeS | ||

I've owned a '99 C5 Vette, a '06 955i and currently an 1125R Buell. I can honestly say it is 'no contest' - the Vette will trounce these bikes easily in top speed. However to all you who might write that big Triumph off - I'd wager to say the 955i would be pretty damn close to the Buell in absolute top speed. Laugh not - while the big Daytona might not accelerate as hard it still puts down 130Hp and is much more slippery than the 1125R. I'd put the two within 4mph of each other in top end. | ||

When this study is complete. I'll post the same with my test subjects... 1987 Buick Grand National (Black, Alcohol Injected, 76MM Turbo Charger, THDP, etc) 2005 Silverado SS (Black, Methanol Injected, STS Stage II Remote Turbo Kit with FMIC, etc) 2008 Buell 1125r (Black w/ "Go Faster Fairings!" and K&N/D&D) 2009 Buell XB12Scg (Black w/ "Rose Gremlin Bell" & K&N!) 2008 Ford Focus (Black! 5 Speed!) I think the Focus would own all of them.  | ||

On Saturday the speedo hit 152 at 10K rpms on my 09' CR. It might hit 160. The tough part is trying to hang on. |
