Lately starting my 1125 has involved a bit of a "thud". The engine turns once and then "thuds" or "drags" and then turns freely and starts. Is this normal? I don't know if it just developed or if it has been happening forever.

Mine's done it from day one. Kinda a thud or thump. Should be someone around to explain these mysterious noises ;+}.

It's normal, just ride it!

Usually, when I start up Loretta, she pops in the muffler then starts.
Did it with the OEM, still does it with the Drummer.

Ride it.

Yep...mine is more of a heavy "crack" sound, out the tail pipe, one time.

Mine has done it from new. Reckon it's to do with the high compression. It hardly ever turns over before firing.
