So Zack, I finally got around to pulling the belts out of their boxes.... figured out the longer one fits the 1125.

coiled it like you and I had discussed way back when.... that was a lesson in patience

but I can't for the life of me figure out WHERE you stored it on the bike

so that's my question to you.....where please? and pics (just to make sure you have your story straight LOL)

thanks
bob

You may have a problem Bob.
I put the belt where your(Cali bike, yes?) carbon canister lives.
The thread about storing it is archived, I'll see if I can track it down this evening after work.

How long does a average belt last?

My first lasted 24000 miles and then broke with no explanation.

I think I may have found the culprit though, and next track day I'm going to do some self-filming of the belt in certain situations so show how I think mine broke.

If my hypothesis has any truth, I'll post up.

It varies and is a lot like trying to say "how long does a tire last?".

I just replaced the 4 on my F-150 with 44,000 on them while we've put two sets on Vick's Mercedes the last year.

Go figure.

I've never had a belt break but always keep a spare around.

Adoogie3,

Can you describe to me, in detail, what you think you were doing, the inputs on the bike, etc., when yours broke.

Mine also broke while being babied.
