I need to remove my O2 sensors cause they're not used by the map I got from Dris. Anyone do this in a sanitary way? I'm thinking about maybe some plugs for the headers, and some kind of protective covers for the sensors so that when I need them again they will still work. Any advice appreciated. | ||

For your headers, Doug, several outfits make bung plugs. I'd look for a set that sits as flush as possible, inside. Store the o2 sensors and make a pair of terminating plugs for their harnesses. Measure the DC resistance at rest and put a resistor across the plug contacts to emulate a sensor. Or, since your o2s are turned off, just a sealing dummy plug like the Acc plug up front should work. I use plugs available from my local speed shop. Had to turn them down a little shorter because they stuck into the pipes a little bit. I'd bet that Summit Racing sells them. Just checked online - yep:  http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=700+ 400636+115+4294772351 Exactly what I have - but again, you'll likely have to turn them down since they're longer than the bungs and stick into the exhaust flow. Steve, ended up at Yearwood in ABQ where they sell Moroso. Apparently a popular item, they had lots. The thread length is about 1/2" so maybe there won't be any modifying. Already have the anti-seize. Thank you all. |
