Neil man, you gotta LEAN that thing!

I finished up my install - it's on a Firebolt, so I posted it in the XBoard, but my method will transfer to an 1125 seamlessly. No option for a passenger with the bags though, but they are super easy to take off and stick the seat back on.

Take a look and tell me what you think...

Mark:

Yeah, yeah even though my 110 mile commute does have some turns, there are not enough to offset the straights.

Tim:

How about a P/N for the paint? Does it come in a spray or just a can? I guess I need to order some flat black panels so I can paint them.

No_Rice thx for the P/N.

Just a little mounting update:
After changing tires on Saturday my back was pretty much toast. Sunday I was able to do some more thinking about just what I wanted to do. Thinking is good when your back won't let you "do".

I need to put a radius in a 3/4" square steel tube to match the "waist" of the tail section. I think I can do that by profiling the curve and transfering it onto a 2x6 and jig saw the curve for a bending form. A "little" heat (some nomex paper insulation) and a big C-clamp hopefully will get the result I want.

I have a long weekend to play. Any ideas would be great.

Still playing with bending steel square tube. I'm hoping to get it pretty close to right, the 1st time.

Neil,

I was having a hard time coming up with a way to bend steel tube as well for mine. I wasn't confident I would get the results I wanted, so I decided to just go with solid rod, which I've used extensively in the past and you can bend any way you'd like.

...just a thought...

I've been thinking about that since you mentioned it for your build. It's an alternative. There are still a few ways to skin this cat. Hopefully I don't get clawed in the process. ;+}
