I have wanted one of these for my S3, however I understand they don’t work with the fairing lowers installed. What’s the deal with that? Is there a workaround?

however I understand they don’t work with the fairing lowers installed.

From this, it states a different fairing lower needs to be used. I would reckon that the the trimming of the left lower is different to accommodate the shifter, as you can find photos from a web search showing plenty of S3's with lowers with this shifter (and there were definitely S3's factory assembled as such).

Even though I am not in the market for this kit, thanks to Lance and St. Paul Buell for doing this - the flash sales and the posting of these instruction sheets!

Anybody ever fit this to an S2?

I notched my fairing lower on my '99 with tape and a Dremel followed by some sanding.

I'm also running the same on my S2.

"Anybody ever fit this to an S2?"

Yes, they fit perfectly. They might have the same clearance issue on an S2T (or an S2 with lowers) that they have on an S3, however.

Lance, I just need the spacer in the top right and the long bolt to reassemble my updated shifter. Are those available separately? Thanks

Is this shifter better than the original? How so?
