By the way, Superbike Planet is floating the rumor that Rossi has already decided his title chances are gone and may not even show up at Valencia.

If that is true, Dorna has a MASSIVE problem on their hands...

Marquez was already crashing at that point.

From what I've seen of the incident, that was my thought. Rossi also said that MM's contact knocked his foot off the peg and it wasn't a kick.

Then again, the 1st liar...

Those new angles shed a whole new light on this situation.

Also, it has to be pointed out that MM was going to wreck Rossi OR force him to 4th place. There was no other possible outcome. For someone who is not involved in the Championship to attempt to change the outcome, it is despicable.

Does anyone know if Rossi's appeal has been decided? ***edit*** Race Direction penalty was upheld by the FIM Stewards.

I read they denied the appeal immediately. he must start the last race from the back of pack.

I think it would be great if all of the riders at Valencia would just sit in place at the start and open a path for Rossi to get quickly to the front to make a run for the Championship.

Marc crashes because Rossi slowed down to make contact with him, as he tried to push Marc outside the race track.

Lorenzo's comments ring particularly hollow considering he was NOT penalized for passing under a yellow flag...

Rossi did NOT "slow down to make contact with him." He slowed down to force Marquez wide and off the track. Marquez made the decision to hit Rossi rather than run wide.

So do you refute the video evidence that MM turned in on VR46 and caused the contact? That he was crashing on his own and Rossi's leg action was in response to MM basically falling on him?

And that's beside the point this non-contender should not have been making suicidal passes at the Championship leader anyway. MM was very willing to crash as long as he took VR46 along with him. If you can't see that intent, you are blind.

That was street justice served by the old warhorse...

...ps, I read somewhere MM was really pissed those "private" pics of him an JLo got out.

He is going to race. Contractually it would be a disaster for the Dr.

This is good 'ol posturing, but I am not really fond of his attitude at this point. It's like he has already thrown in the towel, instead of looking at this as a chance to ride the race of his life to possibly win the Championship in the most dramatic way possible.

Maybe he has in the back of his mind, the two lovers will collude yet again in Valencia. Unless MM (and Pedrosa) finishes in front of JLo, Rossi's chances are extremely small he can finish high enough to keep the points lead.

If I were a back marker, and Rossi was behind me at the start of the race at Valencia, I would get out of his way, mostly out of a sense of self preservation..........

I will be interesting to see how hard the others race VR46 on his march to the front, although it can be difficult to know who is behind you unless they take a look or have good put board timing.

I also wonder where the rest of the paddock stands on this whole situation. I haven't heard much from anyone other than the participants in this fiasco.

It would be a disaster for Dorna and the Valencia facility if word got out "The Doctor" wasn't going to be there. People want to see Rossi and Lorenzo battling it out tooth and nail to the end. They DON'T want to go and see Lorenzo "Coronated" without a fight and legions of Rossi fans would stay away in droves as well.

But yes, I'd much rather Rossi show up and manage to take the title by ONE POINT just to rub it in to his team mate's nose.

Here you go: http://www.cycleworld.com/2015/10/27/what-are-the- other-motogp-riders-saying-about-the-rossi-vs-marq uez-controversy/

Looks like the opinions of the riders pretty much mirror the opinions of the public: some pro-Marquez, some pro-Rossi, some "both were at fault".

Read that article. It seems to me alot of those comments were taken before the micro-dissection of the video. Many thought Vale kicked MM's bike, but it is confirmed that is not what happened.

When I saw the incident live, I too believed Vale kicked MM to the ground and that did not sit well with me at all. Running him to the edge of the track to send a message and possibly obtain a bit of a gap is completely different than creating contact and intentionally wrecking another rider.

There person who actually initiated the contact was MM himself.

I gotta wonder what Kenny Roberts might have done? I suspect he would not have spoken out at the presser. I suspect he would have caught up with Marc out of sight somewhere and "explained how one could get hurt messing around with the champ". Back in the day guys could count on getting hurt by doing what Marc was doing,; an not in a sorta subtle low speed crash either.

Dave, I seem to remember Kevin Schwantz making a comment like that in Marquez' rookie year. The current grid is FAR too polite. Back in his day, Marquez would've gotten something like a "Fraternity hazing" in nearly every practice if not the first few races of the season.

F**K Repsol!! They didn't make such a big stink when one of "their own" took out his own teammate with a reckless move when said teammate was leading the championship so they should just keep their damned mouths shut now. Never bought their products before, and you can be damned sure I wouldn't touch them now.

I'm starting to think part of their "Corporate Culture" is to take down the MotoGP championship leader in the penultimate round.

Hugh, Jeremy McWilliams had the best comment. He had the same "knee jerk" reaction most had when the incident occurred: "Why did Rossi kick Marquez off the track like that?"

Unlike a lot of the Marquez supporters, though, he actually went through the evidence and is convinced (as are most of us) that Marquez instigated the entire event. Had he not crashed (on purpose??) and just run wide (as Rossi insists he intended), nothing would've really happened. It would've been chalked up to a "Racing Incident" and that would've been the end of it.

I am curious if Race Direction had the slo-mo videos we have seen? Particularly the one where MM just lays his helmet on VR46's knee puck (when MM is in process of crashing) and then Rossi's foot comes off the peg in response.

One would assume they would tear apart and slow down every angle possible, but one wonders as a couple of the vids look homemade from possibly fans?

I don't recall Race Direction mentioning a kick in the official writeup, but they did state Rossi caused the contact, which it is pretty apparent he did not.

HOnestly, Rossi looks more vindicated than ever as far as he accusations of Marquez.
