hey Smoke,

you had quite the 2010 Daytona experience!

thx for detailed sharing - I especially liked the meal-by-meal restaurant call-outs

folks forget that racers have to eat!!

It was very exciting to be on the Buell in the Daytona 200 again. Thanks Tim (Smoke) for everything at Daytona, really appreciated your help! I also want to thank all the Badweb users for the support and donations. It was really motivating and rode as hard as I could. Just wish I could have stayed out of trouble on the opening lap because really think our race times showed we had a top three bike. I missed the opening lap crash that took out several bikes but on the restart Coughlin slide wide in the international horseshoe and hit me 3 times before taking me out. I couldn't believe it and really thought the race was lost, but after a figuring out how to ride with the right peg broke off, and trusting that the front fairing would be okay riding down on the fender, the laptimes started to improve. After the first stint the James Gang/Hoban Brothers crew fixed the fairing things where a lot more comfortable. The rest of the race just got better, moving up through the field steadily. Ironically in the closing laps I caught Coughlin, he looked back a couple of times so I knew I had his attention, dogged him hard, showed him a wheel over and over and in the end felt like I pressured him into a mistake. On the last lap Coughlin highsided in the international horseshoe! Glad to see Paul and Walt have good finishes too. It was great to see 3 Buells in the top 20!

Congrats Shawn on the outstanding ride....I couldn't believe you rode that thing after seeing the damage. We were watching from the stands in the middle of turn 1 and the last turn going back up the banking. You were carrying a higher gear through the last corner going up on the banking than the others so it was easy to keep track of your amazing progress. I didn't realize that was Coughlin who you were pressuring the last lap! What goes around comes around!

Congrats and we hope to see you at Road America!

Shawn, Will you be running the buell the rest of the year? If not is there any way that with support from BADWEBBERS you could? Would like to see that number [ONE] plate back on a Buell!!!! Tried to do what I could to help Smoke with your bike at Daytona. I'll be there next year again if you need help

Shawn. . . you, Paul and Walt marshaled one of the proudest and most exciting performances in Buell Racing history.

You're an animal!

Congratulations.

Amazing comeback and fortitude Shawn. Your race was by far the most compelling of the day. It's a darn shame that SpeedTV was apparently boycotting any mention of you.
