Bud, great write up. I'm impressed with how much work you do between wet and dry. In the Southwest rain is not as big an issue.

Please keep up the reports. They are good to read. So are your email newsletters. Always enjoy them too.

Again a good weekend for Buell Racing in the Netherlands.
Friday we did a Buell track day on the super!!!! circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. I think this is the best (formula one) circuit on the planet. 7 kilometers track in the hills of the Ardennes. Did some great laps together with Graig Jones. And off corse Ronnie. Very nice to play with them on the track. (I don't try to play with Graig on stunts.)}}}

At saterday the next race on the TT-circuit of Assen. Again a very good performance of Ed van Weel on the Twin motorcycles bike. 6e place overall at the supercup 1000. Every race he closing the gap to the podium.
Next race we want champagne!!!!

my first win ever
Drive the bike to the track, take of the licenseplate and mirrors, put some ductape on the headlights and GO.
I had to compete in the S1 class, qualified 5th(10 guys in the 1.51's)first heat after 1 lap third place and after 5 laps second place.
second heat, first in the first corner and nobody was able to catch me.
third heat, again first in the first corner and a great race with a guy on a CBR1000,3 corners before the chekered flag he got me but I had more drive out of the corner so I take my first place back and it was my second win of the day.
my best time of the day was a 1.49.1
Bas Leek was doing the faster S3 class and finished in the top 15.

BUELL racing is cool.

Hi Tim,

all the problems,
that's why we want to race

using the bike full and learning from it

Ed being a former 600 cup racer, ( dutch champion ) and he rides way nicer lines than the 1000.
the most off the 1000 field is going " squire " tru a corner, to get the bike up as fast as they can,
Ed on the other hand like to drive more rounded lines, ( he was fast on his 600 )
using the TQ to really slingshot out off the corner, to get as much speed for the straid,

there are a few guys who really know how to ride a liter bike, and those guys make about a 3 seconds faster lap than the rest off the field

we need about 20-25 hp more to get those really fast guys

last tuesday we had the 5th race of the season.
I raced in the S1 class,Gilbert Backx in the S0 and Bas Leek in the S3.
In the free practice I had a 1.59 laptime and was the fastest of the group, qualification 7th place with a 2.00
first heat, finished 6th,great battle with the first 8 riders.
second heat 4th place, again a battle from start to finish with 6 riders,I made a jumpstart and got a 10 second penalty wich put me on place 11th on the grid for the last heat.
third heat,I know I was fast, top 3 was possible,so I knew I had start good to keep up the speed with the group, first corner 2nd,4th corner first, after 2 laps I got passed on the fastest straight of the track, after 2 laps we got code 60(somebody crashed and code 60 means not faster then 60 km/hour)I was realy focused on the green light, there was only 2 laps to go so I had to make my move whenever was possible, green light was before the famous GT corner, passed the guy going out of the corner but I had the outside line and he was realy close to me on the inside,we both brake realy,I mean realy late and it was not possible for me to take a good line and go into the corner,so I ended in the gravel, got out of it and finished 11th.
I had a lot of fun with good races, lots of overtaking.
also set a pb with a 1.57
Gilbert Backx finished 1th,3th and 3th and had a overall win
Bas Leek finished in the top 20

It was the last race of the year.
practice and qualified 3th place in the S2 class(stronger field then the S1 last time)
first race was dry, finished 3th with a last laptime of 1.46.8(last time that I won the S1 class was my best laptime 1.49.1).
second heat finished 5th in the wet,I didn't change the suspension so the rear was sliding all over the place, finished 5th.
last heat, changed the compression en rebound damping and I had enough grip, finished first.
Gilbert Backx raced in the S1 class and had a 2nd,1st and 1st finish.
I raced 5 races and 1 4 hour endurance race and use the bike every day, never changed the brake pads,so to me the ZTL2 workes brilliant,I got almost 20.000 km on it so it's time to do the spark plugs and valve check.
2010 is gonna be a good year for me,keep you posted next year.
