I am going back to the Avon Distanzia tires. I have tried many different tires on the Uly and the Distanzias are the best all around for me so far. I wish I got better tread life, but I can't complain too much at 4.5-5K from a supermoto tire.

Pirelli Scorp Synch - nice enough tire, but I wanted something with a bit more dirt traction. About 5K miles on the rear.
Pirelli MT-60R - my favorite tire performance wise, but I go through a rear in 2-2.5K miles. I just can't afford that.
Pirelli Scorp Trail - currently on the bike. Decent (for me) tread life. Changing at about 5.5K miles. Great tire on pavement, but not quite the equal of the Distanzias when it gets dirty. Dirt performance is important to me, as I do quite often find myself far from pavement.
Dunlop 616 - Well, I have never found a Dunlop tire that I liked, and these were no different. I found them to be very unpredictable on pavement and no better than the Synchs in dirt. About 5K on the rear.

BTW, I am a big guy (300 lbs) and have a heavy wrist. I have yet to get 6000 miles from any rear tire on the Ulysses. I usually go through two rear tires for every front tire.

Thank Ya'll for The Report's, Amazed just how much better the Trails are than the Sync's, but Distanza's next. Pleased with how Hard I can push with braking/accel w/Scorp Trails, but nervous with getting too far from vertical on loose stuff.
Have a 2010 rear wheel, need to get a rotor & sprocket, and another Uly front, keep Gumballs w/tread on one set for Dirt/Improved roads. One for road travel/Milage Pr3's maybe.

What's the major difference between PR2's and PR3's? (I'm sure it's a dumb question, but that's what I'm good at.)

Use my bike mostly for commuting, so I picked up a set of Shinko street tires and they seem to be working fine for me. Price for a set is very reasonable also.

I'm still on the original Stradas on my XT. They have almost 9000 miles on them now with at least a thousand more before I change them out.
They have done everything I have asked of them, 110mph trips on autobahn 2-up, lots of corners in the Alps 2 up, gravel and dirt secondary roads when necessary, lots of cobblestone, rain, hail, and snow.
When they go I'll put on the new Angels and give them a try.

Keith,
You will be amazed at how messed up the bike is turning now. When the new tires are put on, you will wonder why you did not change them earlier.

Pr3 is the new generation. Different tread (slightly) and I think updated compounds. I have pr2s on my s2 and put pr3s on the s1w, they're very similar (and I love em both!).

I"m with you Keith, the Stradas worked for me as well.

I took Mike's advice, as well as many others and put the Scorpion Trail on. After 1400 miles out and around Sturgis and back, I am impressed with this tire.

I did have one Strada front left on the shelf, so it went on with the Trail on the rear.

Ourdee,

I know. I've been riding for more than 15 years now. The only thing I notice now is I get off the seat more often for corners but when I go with new tires the bike will want to fall into the corners with just me moving my shoulders over. I'll then think "why the hell didn't I do this sooner?"

But the Buell still holds a line better than my wr250r so I'm ahead of the game anyway.
