I placed a post here on sept 19, 2010 telling my tale of being hit by a truck while on my beloved Uly. That truck took my left leg off right there at the scene. After much time spent on the road to recovery, I am very happy to say that I am close to riding again. I have ridden street bikes for over 30 years, and this is the longest amount of time that I have spent off a bike. The Uly was a loss. I was going to keep her for parts, but the insurance co. wanted to much for the salvage price. I was lucky to have a second bike, an '06 Ultra. I have ordered the Pingle shifter and to help with my loss of stability the leg up landing gear system. I cant keep my mind off getting another Uly. I see that Dave Barr rides one and he lost both legs. I am still learning how to use my new leg. Physical therapy is hard, but I keep my focus by thinking about riding again. As soon as I am back on two wheels again I will include a pic. I am still a Uly guy at heart, I hope to one day be back on one again. I would also love to make one of the Buell get-togethers, as long as you don't mind if I am on a Harley. Thanks for all the kind words and the encouragement, it has helped. | ||

That's cool as hell. weird pic Froggy, I think I'm seeing a prosthetic with a tattoo. I broke my neck 10 or so years ago, came within 6 months and one surgery of being a full quad. I don't know what I'd do if I couldn't ride. Stick with it, I'm working on designing a brake lock for trikes. I have a customer that can't pull/push the mechanical one on his FLHTCUTG. <edit> He already has a Pingle shifter and a Rev-Lok auto-clutch. Zack (Message edited by zac4mac on April 22, 2011) | ||

Great to hear the update. Refreshing to read about someone with such a positive outlook. The lady that owns the main school I work for here in FL also has a prosthetic leg. Unless she wears shorts, you would never know. Nothing slows her down, she runs circles around the rest of us. Keep up the good work, and please keep us updated. B. | ||
